Concise history of Mayans in small book. Good for beginners.For all ancient civilization enthusiasts, this book would be very interesting and informative.This book helped me to upgrade my knowledge on Mesoamerican civilizations, especially the Mayan civilization.This book also says about the Olmecs and Aztecs briefly.Sheds light on how vast was the civilization, Maya's bond to the nature, the politics, warfares for power, human sacrifices, social hierarchy, foreigner's arrival, Spanish conquests & colonization, different periods, new discoveries and many more.Good read, overall.As a bonus, for reading this e-book, 'Hourly History' is giving free copies of all three volumes of their e-book "Viking".Happy Reading :)

If you're a true book lover and enjoy diving into the depths of past ,then you can pick this short history book. It informs you with a fine precision.

I would say this is an introduction to Mayan civilisation. Content was very brief. However since this is my first book on anything Mayan, i am not sure if this because of paucity of information.Took me a long time to read this book as the writing did not hold my interest for more than a few paragraphs at a time.Glad i read it though, it was good start and i will look for more reads in this space.

Sounding frank, I would like to encourage irage hourly history for the efforts undertaken by them to spread awareness amidst the people of their past. Absolutely they are the great work created by them. But as an individual I feel that there is a need to increase the information being provided in books. It doesn't only work by personal intepretation beong presented in the book but there shalt be real time examples of the events tthat took place.

Very detailed and informative

Book would be more interesting if supported by maps and pictures. This book lacks in this regard. It is difficult to visualize based on the narratives. Narratives too is repetitive in nature.

It's a very interesting book, though do take into account that it's more of an introduction or an overview. The only problem is some bits are repeated or confusing, as if they weren't properly revised.
