As a person with a ileostomy, I lose more salt and minerals than the average normal person. So, I need more that just boring plain old water. After getting a little sick and tired of Gatorade everyday, I decided to buy Hydralyte and it does work wonders if you're sweating and have output at the same time. I'll eventually get a little dehydrated and tired after losing so much salt and electrolytes from my body from intense activity like playing video games or from walking in the heat. Gatorade has a lot of sugar in each bottle and can give me sugar crash after drinking a lot. Which is one of the downsides and their flavors are more artificial. They still work, but too much sugar. After some research and looking up ostomate blogs, like those who write personal blogs about their daily life with their stoma (ileostomy). I am glad to find this life saving product, which is Hydralyte that is recommended from the ostomate who blogged about it after saying water alone doesn't cut it. The taste is light and crisp, it's not heavy and can absorb into your body quickly after drinking it. The tablets are pretty big and won't go inside most water bottles. So, you've to pour the water into a cup and place two tablets and let them fully dissolve after it is done fizzling. Hydralyte wakes me up and helps cure my crash, light dehydration, and fatigue hangovers more than Gatorade alone. I highly recommend this product to anyone who doesn't like drinking plain water or Gatorade all day and wants a alternative. Also, to those who've physical medical conditions like ileostomy, colostomy, and other medical conditions that can dehydrate you. Also, it is very useful for travel when you can't carry large amounts of Gatorade or any other Sports drink. I need to buy more.

I ordered this Hyrdralyte in the orange flavor after a couple of days of bad morning (more like all day) sickness. It definitely helped. I've also drank Pedialyte as well. Between the two, they both helped with the nausea and morning sickness. I like Hyrdalyte better because I can carry a pack of this this wherever I go. I also liked the price point better compared to Pedialyte. The directions called for 2 tablets for 7oz of water. I only used 1 per 7oz because it tasted too strong for my liking with 2 tablets. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I found it to be a little too sweet, but my taste pallet had been off since getting pregnant so other people may like it.

I first heard about this product on several of Dr Drew Pinsky’s podcasts (Adam & Drew, This Life, etc) where he mentioned his whole family uses Hydralyte, and this was before they became a sponsor. He recommended it in particular for people who have active, lifestyles, athletes and those with the 'flu or other health issues that need something that will hydrate & balance electrolytes, etc. By the way, Dr Pinsky is a long-time board certified Internal Medicine Specialist, not just some dude with an honorary degree or some equivalent. He knows what he’s talking about! A couple days later, my sister called and said she was down with a strong form of the latest virus, so I quickly ordered her some Hydralyte to try. I didn’t tell her much about the product; just that I wanted her to give it a shot. She said she felt better very quickly, and then ordered some for her son, who had just gotten the virus too. She still hasn’t stopped thanking me for helping her to recover faster than usual! Not a week later, I myself began fighting a particularly nasty virus that was making the rounds where I live (thousands of miles from my sister) and I already suffer from an immune deficiency issue. I normally don't take the time to write long reviews, but Hydralite is well worth the time and effort!! Hydralyte worked better and faster than my usual "go to" drinks - Pedialyte or things like Gatorade and Vitamin Water, so I hope to see it for sale everywhere soon!! After checking over my review for typos, I realized that my review sounds like a commercial. I would like to assure you that in no way am I being paid for this review, I just really like Hydralyte!!

Hydralyte tablets are a lifesaver! I get dehydrated alot and these work so fast its crazy. The orange flavor is pretty good too, not over sweet or fake tasting. Dissolves easy and doesnt leave a weird texture. Perfect for when I travel or just feel run down at home. Little pricy tho but worth it cuz it keeps me from feeling sick. Definetly recommend for anyone needing quick hydration fix.

The Hydralyte tablets work well and taste okay, however, they are expensive and the tablets often break apart in the container leaving a significant amount of power in the container, which all comes out when one is getting out the last tablet. After doing some research and trying a few other options, I have decided to go with the NUUN electrolyte tablets. They have better ingredients, cost less, taste better and the tablets don't break apart.

The taste isn't as strong as some powders, etc, which is good. It's still sweeter than I would like, but oh well.
