A Fantabulous Book
Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity - Charles MingusUnderstanding Tech for people with non-technical/ non-coding background has always been difficult because either the available literature would be incomprehensible or the organizational training would be mostly focused on core techies.Enter TECH Simplified, a fantabulous book by Deepak Singh. Here the key technical concepts and terminologies such HTTP, CSS, TCP, IP, DNS, VCS etc. are explained in a bit sized easy to understand chunks with real life examples to which one can relate to.The book starts with a basic introduction to computers, software, internet, websites, mobile apps and moves on to DevOps and System Design (mostly for a Product Manager or PM but useful to anyone interested to know in general the workings of popular and related websites such as Uber, Airbnb). One of the highlights of this book is Deepak's ability to present real life examples to bring home a very complex concept which is mostly absent in other tech literatures. For e.g. relating the communication protocols of internet with that of sending a large book to a friend in parts was totally ingenious. Another insightful topic to read was choice of Databases for System Design. Further link to resources for reference too are available at the end. Please go ahead and read this book, because the joy of learning starts with something very basic, the ability to explain even the unexplainable.

A must have for anyone in Product Management without a tech background
Okay, so I have been going through all the reviews about this book and a lot of them have failed to address exactly what or who this book is for. Here's my completely unbiased review and why I loved it.So, if you look at the details of this book, it explains in itself that this literally is "tech simplified" and is written at a very basic level to build your tech foundation necessary for product management.I am a PM without a CS degree or any major background in tech. During my early Product days in my stint as an APM, I found it really hard and struggled sometimes to understand what exactly a product was from a tech point of view, especially when I used to be in meetings and stand ups with engineers in the company. And as a PM it is necessary to have some basic knowledge of tech stack, system design or architecture so that you at least understand the terms that engineers throw around. And that is very necessary for a PM as he/she has to establish a trust between himself and the engineering team. Hence, I always went back and looked for books, resources online, however most of the stuff out there has always been of high level. Although you get an idea but it becomes difficult to get a clear grasp. It's like you want to learn driving but the only driving instructors out there are from Formula One drivers. This is what this book solves. It helps you learn the basics. Not master them but at least helps build a platform to build a solid foundation for your tech understanding. Everything is explained exactly how it should be to someone like me. I am really glad I came across this book because it has now given me the tools to start a strong foundation for my tech knowledge required in product management. If you want to be a Formula One driver, you gotta first know how to at least drive or at understand how a vehicle works/functions.Kudos to the writer Mr. Deepak Singh. Hoping that you will release more books on System Design and Architecture in this similar writing style.

Good fundamental book on software product development
This book consists of 10 sections each with multiple chapters. chapters have an average length of only four pages. Hence it is easy to read and finish a few chapters in a single read. the font is large enough and pleasant to the eye. the diagrams are clear and informative. The first few sections are quite basic but I found the last four sections very valuable. Though the book claims that the target audience are non technical people, I would say that the book is valuable for technical people also, specially those like me who have mainly worked in software services with little exposure to actual software product development. so as a fundamental ( or should I say funda !) book to understand product development this is very good.only thing I found missing was an index at the end of the book, otherwise if you consider the book itself as a product, it has been designed well.

I recommend this unbelievably accurate book for non-techies.
I loved the idea of this book by Mr Singh, I am an aspiring product manager from an HR background. With virtually no knowledge about coding or software development. This book has helped me understand most of the tech easily. It is a masterpiece in this segment, I am yet to complete the last 50 pages. But I can positively recommend this to anyone who is looking to understand the basic frameworks of technology software/hardware. My sincere gratitude to Mr. Deepak Singh for this thoughtful and resourceful book written with so much warmth and passion to impart knowledge. I say it because, the readability levels are that of an 8th grader, so even if you know zilch about tech, this book will help you in many ways. I hope Mr. Singh writes a follow up to this book aimed at aspiring product managers and an intermediate version to this book.

This book is a great read if you are from a non technical background, his simplified writing style explaining complex topics makes it so pleasurable to read and hard to stop.Deepak has put in infographics to further expand the readers understanding making it easier to recollect and tie them up when thinking of the possibilities of applying tech solutions. This book will pay you back the hours one would spend googling and watching explainer videos on YouTube.
