These are one of the most useful tools I have discovered in the last few years, bar none. They are about the most massively useful thing you can have. They absorb multiple times their weight in liquid and can be wrung out with one hand by crumpling it up inside a closed fist. I initially bought them to try out camping but now use them everywhere: Places to use these: Camping or backpacking: Will completely replace paper towels. When we go camping every one gets two - one to use as a napkin and to dry dishes with and one to use as a body and face towel. If they get dirty they can be washed completely clean with a tiny amount of soap. They dry very quickly. A small piece can also be cut off and used as a fire-starter - when dry they burn very well and long enough to get small kindling going. In the kitchen. Can replace paper towels for almost everything and can be reused at least 100 times or more In the bathroom: as a hand and body towel. It removes the vast majority of water from the skin. Whatever is left can be quickly taken care of with a regular cotton towel. One of the advantages of this is that the cotton towels will then dry very fast because there is hardly any water in them. At the pool or the beach: as a spare towel or primary towel: can allow you to keep a cotton towel very dry for lounging on or laying out , etc. And you wont have to pack an extra bulky towel. Traveling: I keep two in my shaving kit. One unwrapped and "in use" and one as a spare. Combine this with small hand towel and you eliminate any need to pack a full size towel. In the car: You never need an emergency towel in the car until you need an emergency towel in the car. These take up almost no space and are ready instantly when you need them By the door: For people feet, for doggie feet and doggie bodies. For anything that comes inside and has that rain stuff on it. In short these things are like sprinkles on a cupcake - you can't have too many! Some pro tips: 1. The towel will open up easier if you wet it down first after taking the wrapper off. 2. It will last longer if you use it gently and not to scrub things with - it's a towel not a scouring pad. In a pinch though you can certainly use it as a scouring pad and it will hold up to many repeated uses - it just won't last as long as if you used it more gently This is similar to the review I posted for the 12x12 Lightload towels , either size is great. The Lightload Towels are just that....light and compact. I have bought a two packs and now plan to buy more. I activated one to see how it evolves from a very portable, light weight towel and am impressed with the 12' x 24' size and quality. It is similar to a handi-wipe. This has some great qualities other then its large size, terrific absorbency and light weight. This is a great back pack, bug out bag item. It is orange which could be used for an emergency flag if stranded or lost. For a back pack item, this could be used for many activities such as bathing, cleaning, towel, used to obtain water from morning dew on plants, a preliminary water filter, tourniquet on arm, fire starter. Definitely a good survival tool. I plan on putting two in each of my back packs and some in my car. I gave one to my bother who back packs often and he was very excited about the item...size, weight and many usages.

I purchased these to use as an additional item in an emergency first aid kit. I'm often outdoors in secluded areas that offer very minimal resources for emergent situations. As an added challenge, limitations on available space in my daypack makes every ounce of weight/volume a very valuable asset. These towels fit the bill perfectly! I now use them for a variety of applications, keeping some in my car, at work, and in my carry-on when I travel. Pros: 1) They work! - I've used these types of expandable towels before, and they would crack or split upon adding water. All three of the towels in my package expanded perfectly! 2) Fantastic size - not only is the expanded size accurate to the product description, but this brand offers multiple size options for any application you may have in mind. The small nature of the dehydrated version is a dream for anyone looking to shave extra space off of their packing duties. 3) bright color - having the bright colors allows these to also function as a "safety flag" in circumstances that you may need to signal someone. 4) unbeatable price - I have been unable to find a single seller that sells these types of towels at a lower price per unit. 5) biodegradable - there's nothing better than a biodegradable product for the avid outdoors-person. Practical and responsible = win/win. Cons: 1) not meant for many uses - this is an obvious sacrifice that you make in order for all of the other pros that you get, but it's important to note that you're not going to be using these for years (or even months) to come. You can wash them, and though the product is advertised as being able to go through a washer machine, I would only ever hand wash these. I usually use these in a single-use type of way anyways, but at this price, you're really not losing, AT ALL! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend these towels and will definitely be re-purchasing for years to come.

I bought a small and a large towel to use while trekking in Nepal. The big one easily dried me completely after a shower. The small ones were good for face washing, etc. The first time they are opened they are very tight, but if you can get them wet first, they open easily. They dry fairly quickly. They don't pack up as small as they started, but they are still small and light. As I only used the towels a few times, I can't say how well they stand up to repeated use. This is a good product I would buy again.

Even smaller and lighter than expected when packed down - and even larger than expected when expanded. Super absorbent!!! Dries quickly too. This is the perfect travel/camping towel. One issue with delivery - the seller shipped it with a signature required, which caused a bit of a pain arranging for the post office to hold it so I could go sign for it since I won't take time off work to pick up an item worth less than the wages lost. Otherwise, highly recommend - just maybe from a different vendor unless they change their shipping.

I bought these to take to DL festival, as the British summer is never guarenteed. The rain came, so headed back to the tent to dry off a bit before the next bands I wanted to see, and pulled out one of these little beauties. It absorbed a lot of water quickly, and with a couple or wring-outs and re uses I was comfortably dry, as were the clothes I was wearing! Brilliant little towels! Also have some at the stables to dry off the horses after a down pour, and have used them as part of my first aid kit on occasion. These are so handy, and small enough to take anywhere and everywhere. They fit in handbags, gloveboxes, make-up bag, backpacks, pockets. You could even slip one into your bra!(if your wearing one!)
