Make Gaming Great Again
Holding a joycon, even with the wrist strap attachment, is not the most comfortable thing. Being super portable comes at a price, and at home gamers suffer the most. For the best joycon multiplayer experience, I would recommend the Surge Nintendo Switch Grip Kit any day. The joycon fits effortlessly into the grip which provides a much more conventional feel when playing Snipper Clips or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The grips themselves are light and feel sturdy in the hand with a smooth plastic finish. This also keeps your greasy fingers off the joycons themselves which could eventually rub off the red or blue aesthetics.Surprisingly, the thumb grips are actually a huge improvement to the joycons overall. The joystick by itself is a bit short and flimsy, lacking in the depth of control that you experience in the pro controller (or any other controller for that matter). With the thumb grips, the surface it raised with an indented grip that is much more comfortable to maneuver. I leave the thumb grips on now for everyday gaming. My included picture is only of the thumb grips, mainly to highlight that they are great all on their own. Other users have uploaded plenty of other pics for the grips themselves. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The colored variants are releasing in June but the gray ones look just fine as well.

Thumbs up
If you're using the switch on the go then you're most likely using it with the Joy-Cons. These grips are compact and sleek - most other available grips are way too bulky even though they are reminiscent of a full controller and defeat the purpose of on the go Switch use. These are definitely the best grips out on the market right now. The shoulder buttons are small, but very usable and the plastic body could have some sort of rubber for some grip - both issues easily remedied with electrical tape and some innovation.

The missing piece to the puzzle.
Let's be honest for a second, the Joycons are incredibly tiny and could be very uncomfortable to hold for extended periods at a time. I have been looking for a solution to this for a little while, when I stumbled across these. Needless to say, they work and they work flawlessly. Fitting perfectly in the grip kit, the joycons become comfortable to hold. Including thumbstick grips as well was a welcome. They serve to protect the thumbsticks as well as increase the accuracy of gaming.Built of hard plastic, the quality of the grip kits is great. I don't foresee the hinge of the door to break from repeated use, but only time will tell about that. You are able to bring these with you everywhere, as they are portable enough. However you can not have these attached when the joycons are connected to the switch, then again why would you want that.Overall they help with making the joycons comfortable to use. They serve their purpose incredibly well and I highly recommend.

Very cheap plastic holds the joycons in place. Very poor L and R button functionality.
Im very surprised by the amount of 5 star reviews on this product, as the design suffers from two serious flaws;Cons:1. There is an extremely weak, plastic frame on top of the main mold that holds the joycons in place. It swings open for you to place the joy-con in and allows you to shut it to lock it into place. They plastic is extremely thin, weak, and bendable, and could easily break if dropped or forced open too hard.2. The top L and R buttons are EXTREMELY poorly designed and are hard to find and hard to push continuously. The addon straps that come with the nintendo switch unit do a FAR better job with these buttons. The extra comfort you get from the grip provided in this package is not worth the loss of button functionality you get with the L and R buttons.Pros:1. The addition of addons for the thumbsticks are nice, but you will have to use them for yourself to know if they'll be comfortable or not. The rubber/material they use for these is more slippery/less "gripy" than the original, so that may be an issue for you. The main thing to consider when trying them out is if it feels comfortable having the height of the thumbsticks raised as a result of the addons in place. I added one to the left joycon for use with the original "joy-con grip" attachment that came with my nintendo switch, and it feels pretty good so far. It lets you have slightly more control over a thumbstick that has an innately small range of motion.2. The mold for these fit nicely in your hands, but the terrible feel of the small L and R buttons overshadowed this benefit.Another odd thing I noticed is how there are holes on the sides of the molds(where your hands would be) for extra buttons like L and Z. Not only would these be nearly impossible to press quickly while playing, I doubt they were intended to be used in games while you're playing with a single joy-con, which is likely another reason why nintendo included the addon strap with the enhanced L and R button functionality. It may be that this mold was designed before people knew how the joy-cons would be used in games.Look for another brand or wait for this one to be updated/changed. Its not worth the money!Another reviewer also claimed that the joy-cons get damaged when used with these due to wear and tear on the part that slides onto the nintendo switch. This, combined with my experience with the product, leaves me to believe they did not have access to a nintendo switch when developing the molds, and may not have had access to accurate product dimensions(or at least consideration for the plastic slider on the joycon).

A big improvement; but not big enough
Definitely an improvement over using the Joy-Cons individually in gamepad mode. The '-' controller, after a few minutes, is easy enough to get used to and perfectly adequate for some friendly multiplayer mayhem. The awkward positioning of the joystick in the center of the '+' joycon, however, requires awkward positioning of the thumb which isn't comfortable for any substantial gaming sessions. That's less of a design issue with the grip and more of a flaw in the Joy-Con's itself. The L/R shoulder keys are also a bit awkward to press. The grips might be improved if they were made a bit larger and included a larger button to trigger the shoulder keys, and placed the Joy-Cons off-center such that the buttons (at least for the right one) are a bit more balanced. The joystick pads that come with the grip kit are the best part of the package. It's a small thing, but they make the controllers much more comfortable to use - even in conjunction with the official grip or docked to the console in handheld mode.
