Is it one strand? How many indivudual strands come with purchase of a 6 piece set, as advertised?

It’s 6 individual pieces. No stand. Just a loop at each top to hang off a nail or hook.

Would the crystals break if you dropped these?

I bought these as gifts, but they are real crystals so depending on what they fall on yes they could break. But that’s only depends on what they hit. These are very nice and well worth the buy.

I need suggestions how to hang them on a window

I live in an old house with wood trimmed windows so I use very small, thin nails. The smallest size of those removable "Command Hooks" by 3M would also work well on either the wall around the window or on the glass itself. I don't trust those clear suction cup hooks because I've had stuff fall down & break when the cup got old or there was a big temperature change outside.
