Q: Could you lay an iPad mini on top of the drone instill be able to close the lid without damaging it?

I would say not. When closed, the mavic 3, extra batteries and controller the lid foam is slightly compressed. Nice and snug, very well made.

Very good protection! I've used my case about a year now and I'm still impressed!

Sorry, this case is not compatible with mavic air 2.
