Quality electric shaver at a reasonable price
Vastly superior to most other electrics, including the better-known and more expensive brands like Braun, Norelco, and Remington, IMO. I prefer a traditional wet shave, but this foil shaver does a decent job when I'm in a hurry. Otherwise, I mainly use it for trimming eyebrows, mustache, and those pesky ear and nose hairs. It holds a charge longer than I expected, and it gives a close shave (for an electric) without irritation, but it's not suitable for below-the-belt grooming. It's waterproof and can be used wet or dry.

Great and durable electric razor
I've been a fan of Wahl ever since my parents would cut my hair with Wahl clippers back in the day. Wahl in my mind is associated with hair and shaving ever since I remember. This charges and performs easily. I love the catchy yellow color too.

Very good product for the price, compared to other brands with similar models
Overall, I recommend this electric shaver. I previously used Philips-Norelco triple-head rotary models for several years and recently decided to try something new. At the time of this review, I have been using the Wahl model for about 2 months. PROS: - Gives a good shave, about the same closeness/effectiveness as other electric razors I have used. Nothing special, but it works as well as I need it to. - You'd think the lack of a travel case would be a con, but this shaver is built like the M1 Abrams of razors and does not need a case. It has a standard travel lock feature that prevents activation of the razor by holding the button down for a few seconds. - Great battery life. I have not let the battery run all the way out yet, but I used it for roughly 12 shaves over about 3 weeks in between charges at one point with no issues. - Easy to clean, even just using water. CONS: - It takes nearly twice as long to get a full shave done compared to previous triple-rotary models I have used...can't really explain why. - There is no battery life indicator. You'd think this would be a relatively easy feature to include, but perhaps that is why this model is cheaper than others. It's easy to work around, as the battery life is very good, but it's slightly annoying. Supposedly if the battery does run out, you can charge it enough to get a full shave in about 5 minutes, though I have not tried it myself. - This may just be my own bad luck, but the product was advertised to come with a cleaning brush (it is even shown on the box), and I could not find a brush--or even a place for one--anywhere in the packaging. It looked like it would be a pretty big brush for an electric shaver and I looked freakin' everywhere for it before I threw out the packaging, but it never turned up. Thankfully I had a couple old ones from other shavers that work fine, so it wasn't a big deal, but it was weird. Again, overall I recommend this product and feel that the pros outweigh the cons. It's a good choice for the price if you think it might be what you're looking for.

Great product.
Great shaver. Clean close shave. Not a big electric shaver fan but this shaver has won me over.

Just a piece of chinese JUNK! DON'T BUY!!!
UPDATE: I've only had this shaver for 5 months, and already, it's DEAD!! Won't turn on or recharge. DEAD! Shame on you, Whal for more crappy chinese JUNK. Was doing great, just getting ready for a replacement cutter set when it just died. A $48 piece of chinese JUNK!! DONT BUT THIS CRAP!! Original review now rescinded: I'm comparing this shaver to a Braun Series 3 and Series 5. The Series 5 is a piece of junk and not worth the money. I bring it into this review because this Wahl shaver has many of the same features. The Braun Series 3 is a great shaver, but with a NiMh battery, it doesn't last all that well. This Wahl has a Li-ion battery that lasts about 2 weeks of shaving. It's easy to clean in the shower, and the sideburn trimmer is really good...much better than the Braun. The replacement cutters are about the same price on Amazon as the Braun, but I have not needed one yet. The Wahl seems to be staying sharp much longer than the Brauns do. This Wahl also has the "floating" shave head like the Braun Series 5. It really doesn't do all that much, but I can certainly tell the difference from the Series 3. I would definitely recommend this shaver if you're into shaving in the shower like I am. I've been doing it for years, and I have to say, this is the best experience yet!! A side hint...you can keep the cutters a little sharper by putting some 3-in-1 oil that has the Teflon in it, on the cutters and letting the shaver run for about 5-minutes before you charge it up each time. I've done this for years, too, and the cutters stay sharp and last much longer!

WAS GREAT FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS----THEN----
In comparison to other electric shavers (2 that were between $250 & $300) that are supposedly the best, this one by far is a better product. The only noticeable difference is the plastic feels a little cheap compared to other sturdier shavers. The cost alone had me wanting to buy another just to store away for when my original no longer works. I can't attest to the durability of this product yet but so far it shaves perfectly and effectively. With every electric shaver I've had there has been some difficulty getting rid of the hairs on my neck including this one but I'll use the pop up trimmer and then a safety razor afterwards. Again, with the price of this compared to the Br••• shavers I had, this one didn't pull hairs out (what an uncomfortable feeling that is), gives an amazing shave and is a quarter of the price. Try it out. I look for things that work perfectly so I don't have to continue to search, I've found a perfect electric shaver. ****UPDATE**** One year later, well almost, the foil has broken on me for the SECOND TIME. It seems the cutter block had caught the foil and made a tiny gouge in it deeming the shaver practically useless unless you want to rip hairs from your face. The first time was about 4 months ago. I called WAHL directly and spoke to a very helpful representative who was willing to and did send me a replacement foil for free within a couple of days. Although she tried to blame me by saying I pressed too hard on my face with the shaver, I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case. Especially nowTthat it's happened for a second time. I'll call again and see what they say but it's now becoming a little bit of an inconvenience. I guess the fact remains that you get what you pay for. Now I'm back on Amazon researching electric shavers again.....

Way better than rotary for shaved head.
I was complaining to Grok and asking it if there were any rotaries which had more space for holding hair as mine would continuously get clogged and need to be emptied a number of times per shave. I have tried FreeBird as well as bulldog and have had the same problems, with FreeBird being the worst of the two for cheap heads and having them go dull extremely quickly. After using the LifeProof, I will not be going back to rotary in the foreseeable future. I have been using it a few weeks now and it is much easier, shaves closer, and I could likely go a month or more without ever cleaning the thing. It is long-lasting, and if something ever happens to this I will simply buy another. I very much like this one, I get it done in about 5 minutes per day and the close shave and ease of use make it a very much non-hassle so it gets done everyday or every other day and I don't run into problems because it is a pain. 100% recommend, would absolutely buy again.

Hefty and man-sized
I am very satisfied with the robust operation of this shaver. It is a handful. The foil heads are great and the push-up trimmer is neat and clean and easy to operate. I am converting from a wet shower and gel razor to this electric. Haven't tried it in the shower, but it looks well suited and water resistant. For now I just use it dry. Note: Any guy who gets a razor burn from this shaver is likely pressing on his face skin too hard. Lighten up or get a shave oil to put on your face before using it dry. I have used it several times and never once got the dreaded razor rash. Dislikes: Made in China. Wahl...you are an American icon in hair trimmers. Been around for a long LONG time. Why send your ideas to the CCP to manufacture? We can do it better here in the USA and bring jobs home. Work on this please. Likes: Heavy man-sized feel with a lot of LiOn battery power. Great handle grip. Clean swivel foil head. Replacement heads available. Drop resistant rubber exterior.
