Oh boy... Get it... Just get it, this is just the most gorgeous fun item. I am not musical at all. I started of just twanging keys for a week, then found the keys for 'Sound of silence'.. I cant read music or tabulation, so created my own system, I wrote all the number keys down, then those that had to be played with my right hand had a little circle around them. Within a week, I had mastered the song. This looks so lovely, and fills me with joy. It feels like it should command a much higher price. It comes with a few supporting extras which are useful. I imagine I will have this for years and will continue to tinker on this lovely instrument. It's strong, well made, easy to use, sounds beautiful, and such a handy size.

I paid the extra and opted for this 'professional' version over the other which cost around £25, since the finish alone looked so much better and I like the contour at either side. I think I made the right choice! Receiving this didn't disappoint. It's a beautiful wood and finish with a sturdy, pleasing build. The tines (the metal bits) aren't as flexible as I imagined and are also of a good, sturdy build and well secured at the bridge. The sound is magical - either played with the nails for a 'sharp' sound, or by the flesh of the thumbs for a more dampened sound. The unit seems to have been shipped perfectly tuned. Already I'm learning 'Can't help falling in love' and thoroughly enjoying it. The unit can be held in the hands or placed on a table for greater resonance. It's ideal to just pick up and play whenever I have a break in work and what's more it's relaxing to boot! The unit comes in a protective case which is of the highest quality - very thick and robust with a pleasing countured design. The inside has padded cutouts to hold the Kalimba perfectly in place. It is advised that the Kalimba is kept in the case, but I have mine on display in my living room and equally this allows me to just pick up and play whenever I wish. Also included is a cloth carry bag, a cleaning cloth, a chain (to hang?) stickers and a hammer to hit the tines up and down to tune. I'm delighted with this purchase and I'm excited in exploring this new, enchanting instrument. I'm hoping to have my song learned by the end of the month. Watch this space for a video!

I really agonised over my choice of kalimba, since there are so many on amazon. This one is a fair bit more expensive than most of them but I chose to splash out a bit more and choose this one for a few reasons: - Smooth grooves for hands, to increase comfort while holding - High quality waterproof and durable bag for storage, instead of the weak velvet case that most options have - Thumb picks, not included with many cheaper options - Engraved notes, not just ugly and cheap stickers that other options have - Good value fast shipping options to me in the Netherlands For all of those reasons above I am very happy with my choice, and in addition to that it also sounds a much richer fuller tone than other cheap kalimbas I have played with, it is clearly a better build quality than others on amazon. No regrets at all about buying this great quality kalimba

My husband got me this a month ago, and I love it. It arrived in a nice and secured box, in its bag. I really like the waterproof bag too, co'z it means you can bring it anywhere and you can be sure it's secured. I also like the curves on the sides, which not only make this Kalimba unique compared to others (co'z not many have it- in fact I haven't seen others with it), these curves actually help a bit as well when holding it. The sound is relaxing and if you're trying to learn to play it, it's not annoying for the person sitting next to you unlike when trying to learn to play a violin or a flute, that is best to study when no one else is around. I've learned 2 songs so far. The Game of Thrones theme song, and Can't Help Falling in love with you. I recommend this product! The only reason for the 4-star is I was expecting it's made of Koa wood, but inside it says Mahogany. I still love it anyway, and I recommend it.

If you are looking at this kalimba but are unsure wether to buy it or not ... BUY IT!!!! Okay so I was curious about the kalimba and decided to pick up a cheap kalimba off wish. When it arrived I played it for a week and decided the kalimba was something I was prepared to learn and play. After deciding to look around for a decent kalimba I found this one I bought it and waited patiently for it to arrive. Since it came through the door yesterday morning I've not been able to put it down. It came nearly perfectly tuned (the e was ever so slightly flat 3 quick taps and it was perfect) and the sound is so beautiful. It feels nice to hold and the sound that resonates as you 'pluck' the times is mesmerising. I've been playing song after song on it all day and I'm in the process of learning Hedgewig's theme atm. The carry case that it comes with is nice too a nice place to hold the hammer and another place to hold some paperwork (not much but still that's nice) for those that write a few songs down or to put the book that it came with in. Honestly I cant recommend it enough.

This kalimba has a beautiful tone, not too expensive and is proving very easy to learn. Even when I don't play anything in particular the notes sound peaceful and mesmerising, making it a perfect activity for mindfulness. Comes with a well-stocked accessory kit and a very nice quality case. The top G was buzzing slightly on arrival but I managed to fix it with the advice in the information booklet very easily. Reading the booklet, I can see that a lot of care and consideration went into this piece. Thank you!

They deliver everything what's on the photos so you have Kalimba, chain for extra sound texture, 2 thumb rubbers, cleaning cloth, color strips that you can place on the pads(it helps when you learning), stickers with the notes (pads have engraved notes) instruction with tabs so first songs (Canon in C is the best), nice strong material etui, and the hard shell with tunning hammer(instrument is pre-tunned and I don't need to tweak it ). the finish of the instrument is just brilliant. The sound is very nice and have a nice deep sound. Cut for the hand very helpful in holding the Kalimba.

I bought this for my niece for Xmas, having previously seen a Congolese chap play one. My niece is musical, and I figured this is the exact sort of thing I would have enjoyed when I was young. Indeed, I nearly bought one for myself. I thought the photos were probably exaggerating the quality of the product, given how low priced it was. However, I was really impressed with it upon opening, as it really is a very well made product, and the carry case which comes with it is a really good idea, and also very well made. I can't be a judge of the sound other than to say that it sounded very nice, and sounded like it made the right sound... Anyway, my niece also got a very expensive flute for Xmas from her grandpa, but it's the kalimba she's been playing with, not the flute.
