If the power is enough for your speakers, you may have found your last amp.
The sound is just what is on the recording or the stream without any additional noise or distortion. If you look at the Audio Science Review, you will see the amp is among the very best available for a clean, transparent sound. Wonderful highs, without any glare. Deep, controlled bass. Simple to use. Occupies a minimal amount of space. I use it to drive Polk LSiM 703 bookshelf speakers to very loud volumes in a room 20 x 20. (Sensitivity is listed as 88dB.)Sound is superior to Cambridge Audio, Rega Brio, and a whole series of Class D amps I have tried.Cons - no remote, pretty plain looking - it's not going to knock your audiophile friends' socks off (at least until they hear it). May not be enough power to drive floorstanders or very inefficient speakers.Recommended without reservation, especially considering the price. On sale, it's about the same price I paid for a Marantz 1060 fifty years ago. We really do live in a golden age for electronics.

Great compact amplifier delivering transparent audio
This amplifier is a compact, transparent amplifier. It's a perfect fit for a moderate desktop or bookshelf stereo system. I use it to drive mid-sensitivity Polk R200 bookshelf speakers in my studio, and it does the job perfectly. If you want a stereo amplifier that doesn't add any color to your sound, this amp is a great fit.The amp is a bit overly simple and opinionated with only balanced TRS inputs, however I have tried single-ended input with RCA to TRS single-ended adapters and it works fine. An auto-on/off feature is also missing, which would have been nice to have.Pros:- Plenty of power.- Transparent audio output.- Compact with no heat issues and no fans.- Nice feeling volume knob.- Good build quality.Cons:- No auto on or off feature.- Large proprietary power brick.- Only accepts balanced TRS input, requiring additional adapters from most other equipment. My order was sold by Aoshida, and they have so far provided great service.

Would not work, parent company Apos did not respond
Hooked this up with a Topping DAC and got no sound. Contacted support after checking and triple checking all connections. Reached out twice to Apos through 2 different modes, no response in over a week. Thus returning the equipment and going with something else.Like others, found it on ASR, but really becoming less of a fan of that site

A letdown...
The PA5 got great reviews from pundits at audiosciencereview, and I was quite excited to give it a try. However I have problems with it. When I turn the volume up on my preamp (reasonable volume, btw, not overly loud), one of my speakers would suddenly go silent. Sometimes it's the left speaker and sometimes it's the right speaker. When I put my ear very close to the speaker that lost sound, I can hear that it is not completely silent, but the sound is attenuated very significantly. If I power cycle the PA5 when this happens, sound would come back to the speaker, but after a short time, the problem would occur again. So it doesn't appear to be a problem with the rest of my setup, but the PA5 itself. I think it has some design issues. Either that, or the particular unit was defective. So I have no choice but to return it. This is a letdown and I hope the company can diagnose the issue on the unit I returned. If this is just a defective unit, I'm eager to give the product a second try and revise my review accordingly.

Amazing power and features
I am in love with this amplifier. For too long have I been wanting a matching stack which includes a balanced input to a power amplifier - and one with its own volume knob is even more welcome. There's plenty of power, and dual (switchable!) balanced inputs really makes this a top-tier desktop amplifier for a bargain of a price. Goodbye ground loops! I can even hook up the balanced output from my audio interface to play instruments through my desktop speakers with no extra equipment. The amp sounds wonderful, and the matching E50/L50 components make a gorgeous, performant stack.

Clean Class D Power
This is the best Class D amp I have heard. Rivals some class AB amps. If you buy this, you will need to purchase balanced TRS cables and/or adapters. My only gripe is that the adapters should be included.

The power supply can't put out the rated power.
It is rated at 140 watts per channel at 10% distortion that ywould be 280 watts total. The power supply is only rated for 152 watts. It wn' start up under a heavy lard, you have to turn down the volume control and then turn it back up.

Excellent little amp
Clear and powerful sound from the Topping PA5! The older tower speakers in my office sound remarkably fresh and clean. Arrived earlier than expected from seller Aoshida HiFi-US. First learned of this little amp from Audio Science Review.

Fantastic amp
Great amp, may cost a bit more than some of the cheaper ones but the sound is excellent. Currently driven by my D90 dac and my A90 as a preamp
