They will extend out 1.5" on your gate frame and 2" on the gate post. So, you must have at least 1.5"" on your gate frame and 2" on your gate post. Your gate frame and gate post must be square or these will not work. Also, the gap between the gate and gate frame must be at least .67" and up to 1.87", they will not work if your gap is smaller or larger. Easy to adjust the tension for the self closing functionality, use the included allen wrench.
