Master Lock 1480DAT Stainless Steel Receiver Lock for 5/8 in. Receiver Hole,Silver

Solid build and works great.

Already had one for my other tow vehicle and have had it for about 5 years. I got another one for my new additional tow vehicle because of the quality this is. Absolutely love the stainless steel lock and have never had an issue with it. I use this for my boat trailer and we have a lot of hard water. I was worried when I purchased my first one if it would be okay...absolutely!! Key works smoothly and never an issue removing the lock. If your in the market for a great lock look no further.

I just received my B&W Tow & Stow Adjustable Trailer Hitch and realized I needed a locking pin to secure it to my 2004 Ford Expedition’s 2” receiver. Went shopping for the BMW locking pin on Amazon and found out it was unavailable. Elsewhere it cost $45-$55.I noticed this stainless steel lock which actually had a better access key slot on Amazon for $12.95. Don’t even waste your time by this one. It’s perfect and it saves a LOT of money..

I have a 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness with a 2” receiver. This lock is just about a quarter inch too short. We should be able to use it on our other car. Otherwise, it’s a really sturdy lock and unlike the barbell style no more blind fumbling to get the key in and out. My Outback had a piece that curves down so it’s tight with a barbell style to get the key and your hand up there. I ordered another Master Lock that is 3.5” for the Outback. I’ll keep this one for the other car.

I've had many locking hitch pins, I love this one. Well made, good looking, and easier to insert the key into. Normally the key would go in from the end, which can be difficult to align, and the lock wants to rotate with the key. This one inserts from the front so it's easy to see and doesn't rotate. It also snaps on without turning the key, but the key must be inserted. If you remove the key then try to snap it onto the pin, it won't go. But if the key is inserted, it will snap onto the pin without turning the key.

Two problems with this product. First, one of the keys didn't work. It's not cut the same as the working key despite having the same key number. Second problem is that the pin is not 70mm (2.75") long unless you remove the rubber protector on the lock assembly. I need all 70mm for my hitch. If you remove the rubber boot, then there's no protection for the lock or keyhole. I considered turning it in a lathe, but I'd rather get one that is made correctly and both keys work. I'm surprised that Masterlock let this one get past QC. I'm returning it.I know about the 1469DAT, but that one is much more expensive for a half inch longer pin. This one should have been a little longer to start. I'm looking at other products now.
