Principle of Aiki and its Application in Aikido and Aikijujutsu

A useful model of thought
From a non-physicist point of view, the main lesson I have derived from reading this book is that Aiki could be understood as the equivalent to what a construction expert does when he demolishes a building -he compromises its structural balance to make it fall-. Thus, if we use the model presented, the dynamics of the encounters between the practionners of Aiki and those of other modern arts -which are more comfortable fighting most of the time on the ground- becomes more clear. Therefore, even though the concept of Aiki traditionally used in martial arts includes other dimensions -not fully explored in this book-, this work is undoubtedly a contribution to martial arts theory that could lead us to develop new opportunities to apply traditional techniques or strategies of Aiki in the comtemporary world.

An Aiki rational definition, finally!
When we understand a martial concept, it becomes easier to train seeking the desired results. And this work is excellent for explaining how Aiki biomechanically affects the physical - and consequently sensorial-mental - balance of Uke.
