Q: How did this work when two people are watching? One with hearing aids and one with normal hearing?

The Oticon receives the sound signal from the audio source (TV, etc.) via a fiber optic cable. The Oticon has a fiber optic output that goes to the entertainment center / speaker systems. The Oticon will broadcast to the hearing aids and the entertainment system will play normally. Alternatively, the TV speakers can be turned on through the TV menu - no fiber cable output is needed from the Oticon in this case, only a fiber optic input into the Oticon. I do not sense any delay or echo when I am listening through the Oticon and the Bose Sound bar is also playing.

Q: Does this have all the wires needed to connect to a flat screen tv?

Yes. It comes with optical and rca cables. This covers all the TVs I have encountered.

Q: Do these need to be paired by a hearing professional or can the user pair them to the hearing aids?

They do not have to be paired by a professional. The instruction book gives you step by step info.

Q: I only use my hearing aid in one ear. Is there an echo with the TV speaker?

This may be able to be fixed in the settings of your TV. There is usually a delay/sync setting to allow an external receiver for speakers, etc. I was able to use this setting on my TV to perfectly sync my hearing aids with the TV to get rid of the echo.
