I am a 45 year old woman who is a licensed cosmetologist and I use to be a Senior Education Consultant for Sephora so I would give training refreshers on existing products and also train staff on the latest in skin care and makeup etc. I have been interested in snail mucin for a while since I have extremely dry skin (so dry it literally flakes and hurts) however, I also have tendency to develop contact dermatitis and with the correlation between snail/shellfish/dust mite allergies I never wanted to risk an allergic reaction by using snail mucin on my skin. I had heard about wild yam mucin as an alternative to snail but products with wild yam are impossible to find. Vegreen is an almost brand new Korean skin care line. Their first Instagram post is from September 2020 so they are only a few months old. I read some of the reviews by influencers that they sent the product to and the most common comment was “was skin feels super moisturized” and although several noted no other real benefit besides moisture, I was like, “um, hello! Sign me up!”. I use glycolic peals, ceramides, peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, facial oils, and my skin is still dry, dull, and flaky. Could mucin be my answer? So I ordered the product and it arrived yesterday. Packaging is lovely, (eco friendly), and it was actually more product than I expected as “luxury”brands usually only give you an ounce of serum and this is 1.69 oz. so pleasant surprise as I actually didn’t check for volume when I ordered. Anyway, I used this for the first time last night and holy cow I was glowing this morning! My skin also felt soft, bouncy, and supple-something it never does during New England winters! Also my deep forehead wrinkles just seemed less noticeable to me but maybe that was my wishful thinking. (Although the additional hydration on my super parched skin may have actually helped). Texture is thin, thicker than water but much thinner than a lot of serums I’ve used in the past. Product is fragrance free, clear, spreads easily and absorbs quickly. I notice my skin feels tighter to me after application and a little sticky but nothing bothersome. I wasn’t planning on going anywhere today but I washed my face first thing in the morning just so I could reapply this stuff! I really hope this brand succeeds and this product sticks around because this stuff is great for dry skin!!!

After learning I was allergic to snail mucin, I was VERY happy to learn about this alternative. The quality feels exactly the same if not slightly stickier, but I can hardly tell if I'm being honest! It's nice and thin, easy for applying effectively and smoothly. Doesn't disturb my eczema at all either. Doesn't feel extra oily at all.

This is actually a nice vegan snail mucin serum. It is very hydrating, effective, makes your complexion soft and glass like. Excellent value for the money, but I had a reaction to it. It made my cheeks red and irritated. It is a shame, because I did like everything else about the product.

It has same thickness as normal serums not normal snail mucin. This may come as a relief to some people. I do have a snail mucin serum that is thick without being snot like though and a snail cream, so it depends on the product and concentration. Snail mucin has been only product to keepy skin hydrated without making it greasy. This is nice it is not snotty , it is vegan, it does make skin sticky but it is temporary (until it absorbs ). Example is I put it on after cleansing at 7am and I finished morning routine and I noticed at 8am when I was finished getting ready it was already dry. My skin fet completely dry yet smooth, soft, and moisturized. So it functions just as good and is vegan. I feel less disgusted using yam than snail but when your face is painful dry you will use the only thing that works.
