This cream does a great job at protecting damaged skin. It's quite thick, and a little goes a long way. It's hard to wash off my fingers after applying it to my skin (which is good for the sore skin), but I found I can wipe my fingers pretty clean with toilet paper, then use soap and water for the last of it.

I have struggled with bumpy skin (and have a congenitally poor skin barrier) my whole life. I have never known smooth arms, legs, hands, or heels. I stumbled onto barrier cream at my hospital job and it has been a life changer! For $8 a tube it seems expensive, but the results lasts and my skin is so much more comfortable! It doesn't smell like bag balm and I notice I don't need to use it everyday to still get good result ( The photos I included are 1 application a week apart). I recommend it to anyone who has struggled with cracked heels and bumpy skin who haven't found relief elsewhere. Pros: - low odor - Easy to apply (comes out like a thick cream) - Safe for sensitive skin, no fragrance - Lasting results make a small tube last longer - Softens skin and increases skin's natural barrier Cons: - A little spendy per tube - Results are not instant but happen quickly over a few hours/days

So I've tried quite a few of these and I didn't want the chemicals that are in the others. petroleum mainly, so I tried this one. It works but you have to use it everyday where the others you notice a difference right away. So yes it's worth it and I'm sure I could find a more organic one with less chemicals but if you just want one without petroleum this one does it's job.
