Bad quality and no support
After less than 3 months of using it, base broke. I then contacted supported and have not received any reply. The say their product has 3 years of warranties!!! Made in China!

I really like this little box of infrared/red light so far. Seems to be sturdy, and very easy instructions to understand for use. The folks on my FB health groups for red light therapy have nothing bad to say about Hooga, why I went with this one. Brings my blood pressure right down, although this is just one part of my work for that objective.

I initially bought this instead of a red light mask because I liked the idea of being able to treat other body areas too. When I first got it, after my first 5 minute session I thought "I am such an Instagram sucker, and definitely the latest victim of an expensive new trend". I also felt sitting 6" in front of it as directed was almost abusive. But boy, have I changed my tune. I've had it for a couple of weeks now, so it's too early to tell if it's effective as a skin treatment, but I have been absolutely blown away by the mood boosting and anti-inflammatory abilities of this tech. During my pre-purchase reddit deep dive into red light and reputable companies, I remembered reading that NIR light was especially good for inflammation and recovery/healing, and so when I got hit with a wall of seasonal allergies that caused brain fog and full body inflammation the first week I had the light, out of desperation, I tried a full body session from further away (more skin coverage) to see what it would do. I sat for 20 minutes (front and back, 10m each side, both red and NIR light types on, sitting on the floor 18ish inches away from my body (but closer to my legs) and the difference before and after was astonishing. Both days I did this, I felt a significant and immediate decrease in inflammation, but also noticed that my mood was lifted, so I did some googling into why that could be, and discovered that red light also increases serotonin and dopamine! After reading about that and seeing a suggestion to shine it for 5-10 minutes on the forehead/top of the head, and then 5-10 minutes on the brain stem area/back of the neck, specifically for a stronger mood boost, I decided to put my hair up and give it a shot. I used the combined red and NIR light setting again, and actually started laughing halfway through because I couldn't believe the level of bliss I was starting to feel from a LIGHT. I've started to use it when I get into a mindset or a mood I can't shake, and it takes me right out of it every time. Think Ativan plus GABA plus Antihistamines plus Advil. Don't think, just buy. In terms of facial skin treatments, red is a breeze on its own, but I won't be using the NIR light on my face anymore because it gets a bit red and slightly darker, which might mean that I have melasma that I didn't know about. I noticed that pretty quickly, so I'll probably stick to the medi spa for more intense facial laser treatments, but use the red light to support in between, and the combined lights on my neck and body. TLDR; I'm sold. Don't be afraid to buy and try this, Amazon lets you return everything for at least 30 days.

As often happens, YouTube made a recommendation to me based on my past searches. Latest for a video by a Retina Specialist on Red Light Therapy (RLT) and Eye Health. My wife and I have watched several by him and thought highly of his presentations. I have cataracts and will need cataract operations at some point. On top of that, I have eye Floaters bad enough that I am considering an operation to fix them. Going on give years, both eyes, always present in my vision. However, either type of Floater operation - sticking needles in my eyes and sucking out the original fluid and replacing it with synthetic; or letting some doctor play laser tag inside my eyeballs zapping the Floaters - freaks me out and fills my head with terrible outcomes, I am open to alternatives. Along this line, my local Opthamologist recommended some $70 a bottle vitamins, which over 5 months have given me zero improvement for my $210. Therefore I was all eyes and ears to learn that RLT has been a thing for at least 5 years for all sorts of ailments, and has lately been effectively used for eye health. So, in my typical Sherlock fashion, I watched about another hundred videos including reviews, and read about 2 dozen articles and studies over a two week period. Once I decided that I was definitely going to give RLT a chance to help my eyes, I determined that the Hooga Pro300 was exactly the right array of lights and Light Frequencies for me. Aside from my eyes, I have no objections to letting it clear up my skin imperfections, age spots, wrinkles, sore back, insomnia, grumpiness, and anxiety. In all honesty I will say that I could find only one study that measured the effect on Floaters. HOWEVER, while reading the hundreds of reviews, I did find a couple dozen testimonies that RLT did in fact help some people with their Floaters! Good enough for me. And for less than $300, a worthwhile risk. So, I got the Hooga Pro300 five days ago. I use it daily for 15 minutes in the AM, and 10 minutes in the PM. I have it set on a bathroom counter that is waste level. I get buck naked, and rotate my torso in front of it for 10 minutes (3-2-2-3), then sit on the toilet seat, and give my eyes 3 minutes - half time opened, half time closed but facing it - and then bend my head forward and let shine on the top of my head for the last 2 minutes. I am not bald, but my hair is thinning badly, and read it has helped stimulate hair growth. In the evening, each torso side gets 2 minutes, my eyes 1 mi ute, and the top of my head 1 minute. Okay, so after 5 days here is what I can honestly say. I dig it! The easiest improvement to verify is my skin. It has gotten clearer and smoother. My back pains have lessened. I have slept like a rock each night after use. I think I am more chilled out, although this could be because my wife has been away since the day I got it on a family visit. And, while I still have the Floaters, maybe it's in my head, but they seem less obtrusive. For only five days of use, I am truly shocked at how quickly I seem to be getting benefits. I am hooked, and plan to use this Light daily if able. So while my improvements have so far been minor, I am excited to think what they may be by Summer's end. I'll have to do a September update then. Sorry for the novelette but as I age, I have learned that people want health solutions that both work, and are affordable. So from my perspective, I say Ante Up folks.
