Despite the listing stating this item would take weeks to arrive, we had it “Amazon fast”. I have been using a competing product from Ancient Nutrition for several years but I thought I’d give this new brand a shot. So far so good. Taste is good - on par with the others and mixes thoroughly without clumping. Collagen takes time to work through your system before you see the deeper benefits (like bone and tendon health/strength) but the impact to skin, nails, etc is much faster. I’m not sure if my body was just ready for a switch and too used to the “regular” brand or if this is so much better but I can already tell the difference with the more immediate affects you’d expect. Always a coin toss trying a new brand especially after using the same for many years but it was worth the switch. Highly recommended.

I have bought this before and it worked great! My hair and nails grew super fast and strong 💪. This time was much different as my nails did not grow nor my hair! I felt I was ripped off and I won't make that mistake again. I've seen both good and bad reviews and I was hoping that I wouldn't have the same fate as those before me. Sadly, this time was not the best look for this company. I hope in future they'll look at these reviews and do something about their product. What was was of $40!

About four months ago, I was offered a free 21.6oz jar of VitaTradingCo Collagen Peptides for review via the Amazon Vine Program, and I accepted. I've been using various brands of collagen peptides for over three years - mostly type I & III. I can't be 100% clinically certain, but collagen peptides seem to have done a lot of good for the health of my gut, skin and nails - so I'm definitely a fan. The VitaTradingCo Collagen Peptides arrives in a resealable 21.6oz jar. I prefer plastic jars over bags for collagen peptides as they offer the easiest, fuss-free usage as collagen peptides go airborne very easily. There is a fairly standard plastic serving scoop in the jar. This is an enhanced type I & III collagen peptides powder. In addition to collagen, it contains 250mg Vitamin C and 100mg Hyaluronic Acid per serving. Hyaluronic Acid promotes supple skin and lubricates joints among other benefits. According to the product description, this is made from grass fed, pasture raised bovine, without the use of rBGH (bovine growth hormone). But there is no other information as to the nation of origin of the collagen. It does specifically say "Produced, Packaged & Distributed in the USA for Vita Trading Co, St. Charles, IL" on the actual product label. The description says "VTC's Collagen is always sourced from hormone free cattle, raised to the strictest standards, while grazing on a pesticide free diet in the grassy pastures of South America." So somewhere in South America, but there is no statement as to the exact nation of origin of the bovine collagen. Probably unlike most people who add collagen peptides to liquid for consumption, such as coffee, I tend to add them directly to my meals whenever possible. It's easy to add them directly to things like lentils, soups, sauces and many other dishes. However, for the purpose of this review, I tested this VitaTradingCo Collagen Peptides in both hot and cold liquids. It's a pretty good dissolver. It dissolves not quite as fast as some of the fastest dissolving peptides I've used in the past, such as Left Coast Performance , Sports Research (Type I & III) or Orgain . Like most collagen peptides, it dissolves notably faster in hot liquids than cold. In my experience, all unflavored collagen peptides add at least some very subtle flavor, usually similar to a very, very weak salt. Contrary to it's claims, this is no exception. Depending on what you put it in, you may or may not be able to detect it, if that matters to you. In all honesty, I tend to purchase the cheapest collagen peptides I can per ounce and stock up when I see sales. There are huge price differences between various brands and aside from differences in they way they dissolve, I seriously doubt there is much actual difference in the efficacy at different price points when compared with other type I & III peptides. I am willing to pay a higher price for the more complete type I, II, III, V & X peptides. I try to get certified grass fed whenever possible and would never purchase *any* labelled to have *anything* to do with China. Ingredients from Brazil are okay, but the USA is preferred. As of the time of this review, this VitaTradingCo Collagen Peptides is priced a little high for an enhanced type I & III collagen peptides supplement at $1.85 per ounce (or potentially $1.57/ounce with the 15% Subscribe & Save discount, if you qualify, which is a very reasonable price/ounce). I've seen some good type I & III collagen peptides that I've used for as low as $1.09/ounce. I've seen others at well over $3/ounce and higher. Based on the very high price and how well it dissolves (pretty well), I'd give this four stars. Note that there are some EXCELLENT, more complete type I, II, III, V & X collagen peptides supplements that come in at about $1.50 per ounce compared to this simpler type I & III supplement, such as my current favorite Left Coast Performance Multi-Collagen . It is a type I, II, III, V & X collagen peptides supplement. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Biotin. It is a better value with 90 servings per 2lb jar and comes in at $1.56/oz (at the time of this review).

Dissolved easily in coffee, but gives it an odd taste

I am a 65 year old fire fighter/paramedic and a repeat buyer. I use it in my coffee and shakes throughout the day. It has no flavor so I can put it in just about anything. I've noticed a difference in my muscle recovery post workout and I'm experiencing less joint pain as well. Definitely, will be keeping this product in my daily routine!!

Not easily swayed by fads but this really did seem to help me. No taste, easy dissolving so it's super easy to put in coffee or flavored water. I noticed less knee pain in both of my knees but especially in the one that wasn't as bad. The improvement was too coincidental to be attributed to anything else. I would highly recommend this product.

This is the fourth brand I’ve tried and get more for my money. Has no flavor! It doesn’t melt away as easily as one brand I tried but just stir a little longer and that’s ok. I WILL repurchase.

I have tried quite a few collagen powders. This one looked good as far as the ingredients & amount of collagen per serving so I thought I would give it a try. It arrived quickly from the seller, was packaged nicely & dissolved in warm liquid about as well as others I've used. Unfortunately, I won't be using it due to the taste. While it's not totally gag inducing, it is bad enough to ruin the enjoyment of my coffee. I'll be sticking with Forest Leaf & Vital Proteins for now.
