The best I have used
I have tried 4 different sound hole humidifiers through the years for my instruments. This is the best I have used for an inexpensive but effective humidifier. The sponge is high absorbency and holds water well. There are minimal drips and with a little attention to details, you don’t have to worry about water splashes on or in your guitars any sound hole humidifier like this will require frequent wetting, but this stays moist longer others. The access to the sponge is a snap - literally. The key is to use distilled water if you want to avoid mold! I also use MusicNomad ukulele humidifiers in my 10 ukes. This company makes quality products!

Very effective, easy/cheap to maintain, and trustworthy.
I love this! Before purchasing this, I had been researching and reading so many reviews of different guitar humidifiers. This is the only guitar humidifier I could find that did not have any history of it leaking inside guitars. This was very important to me. I would be devastated if it were to leak inside my guitar. I currently own a single unit humitar, as well as a humitar/humireader package. I really do trust that this will not leak into my guitar. It is very simple, all you have to do is soak distilled water into the sponge every week. The sponge holds a lot of water! I recommend purchasing the humitar/humireader package first. The humireader is pretty accurate, I have another humidity monitor in my room, and they are about 1-2% off. The humidity in the guitar case is going to be different then the humidity inside the guitar. It is a good idea to monitor the humidity levels because you do not want to over or under humidify your guitar. There have been a few instances where the humireader in my guitar read 65%, which proves that this product is effective but that is way over the recommended humidity level. I would not have otherwise knew I that the humidifying levels where too high without the humireader. It is cheaper to buy the humitar/humitar package together, rather than buying the only the humireader. The only thing that would make this product better is if it didn't stretch the guitar strings so far apart. Just would like if the product was a little thinner. I hope this was helpful. Definitely recommended!

Best guitar humidifier on the market (seriously)
I'm very pleased with this humidifier. I've gone through all sorts of different guitar humidifiers over the years, and at the moment this one appears to blow all the others away. It's easy to use and easy to access the foam material. It's also easy to slide into place in between the strings without any special hooks or latches. Lastly, and most importantly, the foam only needs to be re-moistened about once per week where I live. Realistically, I could probably let it go even more than a week. This is a huge upgrade over the sponge humidifiers which typically dry out within a couple days. EDIT: I've now had 4 Humitars in 4 of my guitars for the past couple of months. I can say definitively at this point that it's by far the best humidifier I've ever owned, and I've owned many, including the DampIt, the Walden Planet Waves with floral foam material, the regular Planet Waves with sponge material, and the Planet Waves Humidipak. The Humitar retains more water and lasts for longer in between changes than any other humidifier I've tried, and it does a great job at keeping the correct humidity for my guitars during the dry winter months. My guitars stay in perfect tune (no warping due to dryness) when they're in the case, and the best part is that I only change this humidifier once per week. Before the Humitar came on the scene I had gotten so frustrated at the lack of good humidifiers out there that I had even begun to design my own, but I never produced it. I feel like this is the first guitar humidifier that I am truly happy with, and I just hope that they don't ever go out of business or stop producing this item because I can see using this for the rest of my life.

Great for "every day" guitar -- only fair to good for your collectable instruments
For my every day guitar, this works very well. I use two, one under the headstock and one between the strings in the sound hole. In winter (Michigan) house humidity is fairly low (about 25% - sometimes less), but two of these keeps my case at about 38-45% (assessed with in-case meter). I have to replenish the sponges about once a week for it to work well. This is not an ordinary sponge. It holds a lot more water and emphasis on hold. It doesn't drip unless you supersaturate it. Overall, a very good product that I like because of the simplicity and relative cost. If you have instruments you only play once in a while, this might not be the best option. For those instruments I load the case with 4 humidipacks from Boveda in their breathable "socks". That lasts a bit longer than 1 month in my low-humidity winter period. For frequently used instruments, the reduced cost and simplicity of these MN300s is hard to beat. I thought the tension on the D and G strings might pull them out of tune. Haven't really noticed that. Those strings need no more tuning than the E strings. So these are a great option if you open your case (play) your guitar daily or at least weekly. However, for infrequently used instruments of high value, I recommend the Boveda system. It's more expensive to be sure, but lasts longer between needed "refills" and actually keeps the humidity in the case within a tighter range (almost spot on 45-48%).

They just work so darn well.
This is my 7th guitar humidifier. I live in Avery dry area and these are very much needed in acustic guitars. These just work so much better and the water in the sponge lasts a little longer than the other brands. I have changed all my other brands out to the Music Nomad brand. Having acustic guitars, and keeping them in excellent condition, takes a bit of time and effort. These are without a doubt, the fastest and easiest to use and rehydrate. I’ll use no others from now on. These humidifiers are extremely well bade they are easy to use and last, well for years, so far. You can buy replacement sponges if needed but I haven’t needed to so far. Highly recommended.

Innanzi tutto il Design ottimo e friendly-user. La spugna interna è di alta qualità e non sgocciola. Io uso acqua distillata, la stessa acqua che si usa nei ferri da stiro. Lo raccomando. Sopratutto in clima secco e caldo.

These really work well . Our house is heated with wood heat so the winters are very dry and not guitar friendly . A must for dry environments
