I wasn't expecting much when I bought this as I just wanted the harness, but as i'm no good at soldering, I decided to drill through the pickup hole on my handmade guitar and push all the wiring and pots through, keeping the harness and pickup intact. I did have a Wilkinson pickup installed but messed up the soldering so decided to try this pickup and I wasn't disappointed. It has a very nice warm tone when clean but gives a more than acceptable output with distortion added so i'm keeping it on my guitar. If like me you don't expect much then you'll be happy with your purchase. No loose wires on the harness and no noise.

For the price this is awesome! Bought for a DIY lap steel project and it's perfect. The sound is clear and defined, warm but not muddy. The volume and tone pots have a smooth usable taper. Really pleased with it
