Helpful for children
A very simple and nicely illustrated book that helps children understand and identify their emotions.

I love this book!
I remember when my mom use to read me this book when I was younger. I love the colorful illustrations and the silliness of the story. It’s a fun way to talk about all her moods and emotions. I gifted this to my niece and she also loves this book. Such a great one!!

Love it!
My 3 year old son loves this book, and his mama loves reading it to him! This and; "My mommy hung the moon" are in his top 10 favorites. The writing is so clever, I love the sweet and honest way the book addresses emotions.I think its a really tough and abstract topic for young children to understand. (obviously)I think one of the most difficult -and important- things to learn, is that feelings/moods/emotions, come and go and that is OK!!:-)It's part of life and it will pass. (There are some adults I know who have trouble grasping this at times:)The book is a wonderful first introduction to the crazy happy, silly, funny, angry, sad, frustrated, quiet & mad ways we feel inside! The wonderful writing coupled with the illustrations, created a book that makes me laugh out loud when reading it!The illustrations are cute and funny- very colorful and busy, but my son loves that.At the end of the book it has a movable wheel where the child can change the girls eyes and mouth into happy/excited/cranky/silly/sad/angry..my son gets the biggest kick out of this, and will spin it around for 5 minutes at a time! (that is like 2 hours in toddler time:)lol)And I love the last page;"I'd rather feel silly, excited or gladthan cranky or grumpy, discouraged or sad.But moods are just something that happen each dayWhatever I'm feeling inside is okay!"

Such a great book- giftable!
Someone gifted my daughter this book at our baby shower. I thought it was so perfect and a fun way to explore emotions. I bought it for another friends baby shower because it was that good. The book is fun to read too- having to twist the book sometimes or change the face to pick an emotion. Would recommend!

As a girl who read this book when it first came out...
As a girl when this first came out, I understand other peoples thoughts about the teacher crush. but come on it is a children's book. children aren't thinking that and if they are so what?!?! I loved this book and at the end of the day it shows that a girl should grow up loving herself for what she is/has curly hair straight hair um not saying its wrong for other moms to think its bad that they don't want there children to think its okay to have a crush on there teacher but I think its really just about how a girl/child feels I know I had I crush on a teacher in middle school and I don't think there is anything wrong with crushes at a young age personally (obv as long as not acted on) but I would 1000% recommend this book I always read it as a child and have purchased a copy for my nieces because I think it shows at the end of the day dealing with stuff that people go through on a regular basis is okay and that everyone no matter what should love themselfs

Helps kids Articulate what they are feeling
This has definitely helped my niece after reading it to her a few times as she got to see a lot of different emotions as are described in this book, and that its okay to be feeling happy one day and sad the next. This book shows children what types of emotions a person can have and what are some implications of them, and also consequences as well. The illustrations definitely go with the writing perfectly, and now my niece expresses how she feels verbally! Thanks Jamie Lee Curtis for a great tool =)

Excellent storyline!
Still love this book! Was one of my daughter’s favorites. She is now a grown woman. It is a go to gift. The message is simple. It is normal to feel different emotions with different experiences, even if they are not always positive ones.

Cute
A cute book. The grandkids love it. They especially love the dials in the back that allow them to change the emotions on the face picture.
