Although the top is 'lumpy/heavy', the actual mesh holder is very cheap quality mesh. If any pressure is applied to the mesh, like when you have to hold it to fill with nuts which you have to fill it with, because if you you use seeds they will fall out of the mesh holes, then the mesh 'flexes' and will over time no doubt split.
