This should be a winner for my 6 year old grandson who likes to assemble (with directions) all kinds of things. If he is too big to actually sit in a constructed cart, he'll be glad to make stuff for his 2 yr old sister to ride in. Warning; this is a very heavy item (35-40lbs); sadly Amazon packed it very loosely in a much larger box which allowed it to slide and bang around in transit. Just hoping that the product itself wasn't damaged. Price was great though.

This toy is excellent for kids all ages. My kids love it! Keeps them entertained for hours! Great gift!

Arriving at just over 35 lbs, this is certainly a BIG BOX of parts! Initially it's pretty overwhelming, but eventually you begin to think of it like 3D Legos. There are pieces of different sizes that are good for different kinds of construction, and eventually you get a feel for how you can use it to build what you want.** WOOD QUALITY **The wood is of decent quality, probably pine. You can make an impression in it with your fingernail. But, on the other hand, it's strong enough for what it's trying to do and it's light enough to be usable by kids. I really appreciate that all the edges are nicely beveled and sanded, so there are no rough edges or points to irritate the skin. It's actually quite pleasant to build with this!** INSTRUCTIONS **This set comes with a big, full-color printed booklet of instructions for how to build various things. However, I noticed that there's a sticker on one of the first pages that warns that only certain builds have been fully tested for safety, and the others are just "for inspiration". There's nothing on the individual pages to show this, however, so you do need to use your discretion when choosing what to build.There are instructions to build 50 different toys!Although the instructions are well photographed and in full color, almost every build has been reduced to about 6 steps, which means that each step includes quite a bit of progress. An adult with good visual-spatial skills can probably make all the necessary inferences about what's being shown, but it would be challenging for an average child under, say, 11 years old to do that on their own.** AUDIENCE **That brings me to my biggest watch out with this set... The steps are complex enough to require a 11+ year old person (or an adult), but the toys you're building are sized for a 5-8 year old child. In my case, that works out great. I have an older child who can build things to be played with by their younger siblings. It might work just as well for you if you're a parent whose young child has an interest in building things, and you can work on these toys together. Just don't expect your 5-8 year old child to be able to build these with minimal parental assistance.Overall, this is a pretty impressive set of parts that can be used to build an impressive array of toys. For the right family, this will be a really fun toy that gets loads of use for a long time. Just make sure you have someone in mind to do the building and someone else in mind to play with what's been built!

This set is a large scale wood building set that reminds me of a cross between erector sets and Knex.The box includes 35 pounds of wood beams, plastic boards and real screws and bolts.The kit includes wood beams that come in a variety of lengths with pre drilled holes so that the children can insert the screws through them to fasten the beam against another in order to create one of the many creations in the instruction manual or any creation of their creative choosing.When putting together the items, small hands of five to 8 year old children will have a challenge contacting some of the items or loosening the tightened fasteners.When watching my child put together one of the creations in the instruction manual, includes many different steps being done all at once and the different steps are somewhat difficult to follow intuitively.I view this as a challenge and it adds to the fun.I have noticed that some of the instructions include steps to include plastic washers between some of the connections, but it is not possible to connect due to the length of the screws. this is not a problem per se, but it took some adjustment on the fly.Overall this is an excellent toy for your children to do some creative building.

This is the best quality building toy I have ever seen!!!! It is a very heavy duty wood building set. This is a gift to my two boys during the last Christmas. They love this very very much!It includes 26 wood pieces in various sizes, 4 wooden wheels, 13 plastic plates, heavy duty steel nuts and bolts, nylon rings and bearings, good quality wrench, rope, and a manual book which include many different kind of creation instructions.We are very pleased with this product. It good for kids concentration training， reading instructions independent ability and hands-on skills development. Highly recommend.
