Perfect replacement
Great size, perfect fit on our F-150 and easy to take off. We don’t listen to the radio in our truck (XM and Apple CarPlay!) and don’t subscribe to the in-vehicle WiFi service so there was no need for the large OEM antenna waving around. This does the job perfectly, is safe to take into automatic car washes (we take ours weekly for the past 3 years) and gives the vehicle a much more refined look

Does what it says it will do!
It did what it said it would do. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated but it worked as advertised.

Mainly for Looks
I had a very long radio antenna on my new Ford F250 SuperDuty that worried me when I went through the car wash with all the brushes and wipes. I knew purchasing a smaller antenna was going to limit over-the-air radio signal (especially on the AM band) but I primarily listen to satellite radio or streaming music anyway. This was a very quick and simple replacement - just screw the old one off and replace it with the new, shorter antenna. Then, test things out. I live about 50 miles (as the crow flies) from the Dallas/Fort Worth radio station transmitting towers. First, I tried the FM stations, and had acceptable reception. On most of the major D/FW stations I'd say reception was a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10. It was pretty easy to listen to, but some static/interference was obvious. There are weaker FM stations in the area that were pretty much unlistenable. Just too much interference to be able to enjoy. Next, I tried the AM band. The 50,000 watt "blowtorch" signal of WBAP-AM was hard to listen to because of the static. Fortunately, they also transmit/simulcast on the FM band so in the event of severe weather I would still be able to pull their signal in if I was in my home area. All-in-all it was about what I suspected. I know it's almost impossible to make a small antenna that will adequately receive AM signals, and much easier for FM broadcasts. I primarily wanted this so my antenna didn't get ripped off and my truck damaged in the carwash - and it looks cool. It would be a very rare occasion that I would listen to AM or FM, and if I needed to I could simply stream it on my phone to my truck radio via CarPlay. If you depend on listening to commercial, over-the-air radio and you're more than 25 or 30 miles away from the broadcast towers, I wouldn't recommend this for that purpose. If you're looking for something safer in the carwash and with a cool look - this is a great item.

Great antenna
Fit my 17 Ford F350 and the reception is great as well for local radio stations. I would buy again

Buyer beware!
The custom autosound mfg. ANTUV-HIDEAWAY antenna has no amplification components on the circuit board. I tested it into the front end of my Ham rig which tunes down below the AM Broadcast band up into the VHF region. When I saw no improvement in signal strength, actually no signal, I opened it up to look at the circuitry. See the attached picture. There are no components on the other side of the circuit board just for info. I also put a RF signal into the input point on the board on the right and probed with my Oscilloscope throughout the circuit board pads from a commercial RF generator. There was no Radio frequency signal beyond the junction with components where the lower red wire comes into the circuit board. There was a spot on the left circuit board where a surface mount transistor could have been mounted but there was no sign of one ever being soldiered on the pads. The other antenna preamp did not noticeably amplify signals in the AM broadcast band. Usually signals for a broadcast receiver might be in the microvolt or greater region. I hold a commercial broadcast license and worked in AM-FM and TV broadcasting. To get a signal to the output plug I had to drive the input into many millivolt to volt level and the output signal was not linear in fact distorted. What I tested here is headed for the garbage can. If the manufacture wants to send me another circuit I will test and give a truthful comparison of db gain. These two amplifiers are not what was advertised from the way I read in the Amazon ad.

Great Fit and Sleek Look for My F-150
I picked up this short antenna to replace the long OEM one on my Ford F-150, and I’m really happy with the upgrade. It screwed right into place with no issues—installation took less than a minute. Pros: Perfect fit: Threads matched up exactly with the factory mount. Improved look: The shorter design gives the truck a cleaner, more modern appearance. No clearance issues: No more worrying about hitting the garage door or drive-thru signs. Decent reception: Radio signal is still strong in my area—no noticeable drop in quality. If you're looking for a simple, stylish upgrade that keeps your truck looking sharp, this short antenna is a solid choice. Definitely recommend it!

Seemed to work at first.
I bought this because the reception on my radio sucks. Was looking into buying a new antenna but didn't want the hassle of installing it so I bought this instead. Had to splice the antenna wires together for it to work. Didn't hook up the power right away due to not enough power wire, then when I finally did hook it up it seemed like it stopped working. Maybe it's time I bought a new radio.
