AbsoluteBLACK Premium Oval Chainrings
There are a few companies that make oval chainrings: Rotor and Osymetric are the more popular. I went with the AbsoluteBLACK because of the promise of smoother shifts. I used an Osy with my BMC and it rides great. But, with the more box-oval shape, I have problems shifting on the extreme edges of my gears 50-28 or 34-12. Lot's of chain rubbing and/or skipped shifts. So, I ordered the AbsoluteBLACK Premium chainrings for my new Lynskey R240. It's on a Shimano Ultegra 11-speed w/ 12-28 cassette. The shifting is very smooth and I CAN use the extreme gearings, if I wanted to. I hardly if ever use a 50-28 combo or 34-12 combo, but it is something I can do with the AB. Now, I did have my original Rotor chainrings and they do not shift smoothly as the AbsoluteBLACKs, IMO. The Rotor chainrings have a shifting pin and ramps. The AbsoluteBLACKS have ramps only. I don't know how they engineered it, but to me, they do shift better. No problems with adjustments or addition of spacers with the front derailleur. They also look great. I have been riding oval chainrings for 6-7 years. I think they are a little easier on the knees, these 47 year old knees!!ABSOLUTE BLACK CHAINRING ABSOLUTEBLACK OVAL 110mm 50T 4B 2X BK

My 2nd oval chain ring
Having had bn sold on its performance from my 1st oval chain ring (RED) I went ahead & got this black for my 2nd road bike. It's given me more enjoyment outta my road bike & deciding to keep it. I recommend itAgain, insulation is simple, remove chainring bolts swap, tighten bolts to spec, loosen cable on front derailer & derailer, raised a lil, just to leave a lil have@ highest point of chainring, tighten derailer ( watch angle too) tighten slack on cable, test clearance. Go for ride, enjoy ;)

I could tell the difference in the first 5 minutes
I could tell the difference in the first 5 minutes. These oval rings smooth out my pedal stroke. The result is that it feels it takes less power to go over the mid strokes. Try it!

Impressed and better than advertised!!!!
As good as advertised. Felt immediate smoothness in pedal stroke. Zero dead spot in my stroke. Wife liked the so well, I got her a set too! Small investment that could dramatically increase efficiency. Works great for my knees!
