Have the courage to do your own thing.
Don't let the title of this book mislead you, this is not about being greedy and nasty but actually shows the you, that you serve no-one by being deferential and a push-over.There are 50 short-ish chapters and each one touches on a different facet of how we can take back control of our lives. I read the book straight through and can honestly say that I was spellbound; its not evil to want to do your own thing. All the great spiritual leaders from human history have said NO to life's obligations and duties and gone on to serve humanity in much deeper and profound ways. For instance what would history be like if a carpenter from Galilee had stayed at home to look after the chores instead of going off to change the world?

intelligent and insiteful
One of the most amazing books I have ever read. Written in the 1960's but still relivant in its wisdom on life.

An old time classic
This is a classic book.My dad gave it to me when I was young. It explains how selflessness can sometimes be a hindrance.
