Beautiful guide to and recipes for Tuscan cooking
I have spent a lot of time, and done a lot of eating, in Florence and Tuscany. "Toscana in Cucina: The Flavours of Tuscany" is one of the best cookbooks on Tuscan cuisine that I have seen, and I have seen a lot of them. The cuisine of Tuscany is very distinct from other parts of Italy, which are in turn very distinct from each other as well. There is a bias toward beef and pork in Tuscany as there is a bias toward seafood in Venice or pasta in Rome. I was very much impressed by both the book layout, the well selected photos of Florence and Tuscany, and by the authentic and well presented recipes. The recipes and choices of foods are spot on for traditional Tuscan cuisine. The book also includes a few fresh takes on modern Tuscan dishes. The text is in dual language Italian and English, side by side, so it's also a great learning tool for brushing up on your Italian for a visit. A lovely cookbook. RECOMMENDED.

Sono molto soddisfatta! Ho acquistato questo libro come regalo per una mia amica straniera, appassionata della cucina toscana, e devo dire che è rimasta davvero entusiasta. Le ricette sono presentate in entrambe le lingue e sono deliziose! Inoltre, le foto sono bellissime e la qualità della copertina è davvero ottima. Non posso che confermare il mio giudizio positivo!
