Beautiful
I pre-ordered this book as soon as it was listed on Amazon. I've been waiting for ages, and the book does NOT disappoint! The photography is beautiful, the recipes look amazing, and every recipe I've tried of Rick's in the past have been delicious. I'm so excited to have this as a reference in my kitchen for years to come.

Thank you Rick Martinez
I need to thank the author Rick Martinez for writing this book. My wife and I were already fans from his time on BA's YouTube channel and all the work he has done for Food52 after. Yesterday, we watched his video on Tacos Gobernador and I quietly ordered this book for my wife.Last night we had a large wind storm last night that dropped our metal framed canopy on the garden she has spent so much time on. While surveying the damage she also found that the dogs had dug up her gladiolas that were close to blooming. She texted me at work upset letting me know everything that had happened. And that was the small part of her day, she had also finished knitting a cap for her granny that has lost her hair due to chemo and knows she doesn't have much time left. After I got home from work today we talked about all of the things that turned today into a sad and frustrating day for her. After dinner, I got the notification that this book had been delivered and I brought the package in, opened it, and gave it to my wife. Instantly she smiled behind her tears and began reading. While I have no doubts the content of the book is amazing, more than anything I want to thank you for helping me give her that small bit of joy today.

Bright, beautiful, amazing recipes
The book is full of fun bright colors and photography - it brings a smile to your face as you contemplate which delicious dish to make. The recipes are easy to follow and Rick shares his own stories of how and why they came into this book. Instant cookbook classic.

A rapturous look at Mexican cooking
Blown away by this cookbook - it will easily be named best cookbook of the year. Because of Rick's masterful storytelling to the bright, beautiful recipes that take you across Mexico, I am more excited to cook out of this cookbook than any I've read this year. I literally hugged it a few times while reading the salsa section. I'm headed to the Mexican market today to pick up some exciting new ingredients I haven't cooked with before, and honestly i've wanted to cook 90% of the recipes I've read so far (and I'm about halfway through the book). I couldn't put it down - it read to me like an exciting novel. Congratulations Rick on such a work of art.

More than your average Mexican Food Cookbook!
Disclaimer.. I already had quite a few Mexican themed cookbooks.. and didnt really expect to purchase this one.. but after browsing it.. I purchased immediately! What sets this apart, is that its not a tex mex, or just general mexican cookery book.. it dives deep into Mexico and has chapters based on different regions... Norteno vs Yucatan are like completely different sides of the coin for example.. This book provides authentic 'best of' dishes from each region. The graphic design and photography is also top notch. In trying to not buy anymore cookbooks... once I browsed this one..I failed miserably! Cant wait to take a deep dive into it!

Accessible, approachable, delicious recipes.
An overall great resource. Recipes are clearly written, well explained, and so far, outcomes have been delish. Plan to prepare at least one recipe per week. I’m learning soo much!

Wonderful and detailed
This is very well written, Rick has a way with words and I couldn’t put it down before reading through all his essays. I have tried many of his recipes in the past and they are always delicious. I hope he writes more books in the future.

Accessible and delicious recipes
I dove in and made several recipes from this book in the first week I had it, and found several recipes that will immediately go into my rotation of must-make dishes. Wonderful book with great recipes, not to mention the story that goes with them.Just a word of warning: when it says 'spicy' he means 'SPICY' and I say this as someone who grows hot peppers, samples insane hot sauces for 'fun' and generally loves spice. So I'm great with the spice level. But if anyone you know is the least bit sensitive to spice, this book would quickly transform from wonderful cookbook to weapon of spice destruction.

Beautiful book with well written recipes
So far I have made two of the recipes , both easy to follow with ingredients I was able to source and had wonderful results. I enjoy reading the short “story” of the recipes in each case too.
