Best pre-pasteurized substrate I've found.
I switched to boomr bags after being unsatisfied with other pre-pasteurized substrates and mixing and sterilizing my own. It's not cheap, but the end result is superior.Keep bag for at least a week before using to check for contam. North Spore will replace for free any contaminated bags if you contact them. I've never seen a contaminated bag even after over 20 orders, but I have had to get north spore to replace a grain bag which they did hassle-free. Just take a pic of the contaminated and the lot number sticker on bag and email them. For anyone saying this substrate doesn't work for manure lovers, I'd say you just don't know how to grow mushrooms. A lot of people contaminate batches themselves without realizing it.The bag may come too wet or dry. Too dry, just spray with distilled water during mixing with spawn in sterilized room. Too wet (you can tell if water separates from substrate and you can see liquid in bag) let it dry out by spraying breather patch with alcohol and unfolding bag a little and let sit a few days.Always spray breather port with alcohol before handling or moving it from box. Airborne bacteria can get pulled into bag from patch.

Contamination, Green Mold
Extremely frustrated and disappointed in the complete failure of this product.First time I’ve tried this product rather than pasteurizing my own and likely the last time. I figured I’d give these guys a shot and see if I could save myself some time and capital invested but instead I just ended up wasting my money/time, grainspawn and agar cultures. I was running a side by side comparison with control, 6 cakes with this product; “Boomer Bag” (I should say more adequately named “Bummer bag”) and 6 cakes with my “house” blend. 3 “strains” spawned in grain from same sterilized batch, all work and completed in clean room style Hepa positive pressure environment with merv 16 filtration, with cleaning and sterilization per SOP conducted between each individual cake to prevent cross contamination of individual casings. Any variables were negligible, substrate media and strain genetics being the only known differences. Over the following 10-15 days all six cakes using Boomer Bag substrate developed green mold. Testing was concluded, cakes were removed and destroyed.I know contamination is always a factor and to some extent is expected. So complete failure after extensive time and investment is unacceptable. Especially is a situation where an expensive product is used that is supposed to provide superior results and at the very least be free from contamination.

Nice topping
I spread this over my grain spawn once the mycelium had completes enveloped the grain spawn. I think it really encouraged fruiting and I got some huge mushrooms.
