Fantastic for NAS builds
Added this to my NAS build to connect all 8 drives. Worked as intended with 0 issues. Transfer rate is great. Compatible with Windows, Linux and Truenas

No complaints
Works as advertised. No issues in my NAS. I would recommend getting the pre-bundled sata cables as it makes for a cleaner install.

Fast! Works without issues! Needed it for 16TB platter drives on new rig.
I only bought this when I was building a 9900 Ryzen system. The motherboard I got only had two SATA ports. I had four 16TB platter drives I wanted to have internally to the PC. Found this one here. I like that it's an ASmedia chipset not something that is known to have issues. I always had good luck Asmedia based controllers. The only features it doesn't support is any kind of RAID which I wasn't using any SATA raid setup. It does NOT have bootable support you will need something else if your going to boot from SATA drives would have to use the Onboard SATA ports to boot from if they work. Keep in mind some motherboards disable onboard SATA ports when the M.2 slot is used. Read the manual for your motherboard for that information. This device is only attended for only for adding more ports. Yes they are SATA III so your going to get max performance out your SATA drives. So far happy with this purchase!

Used this to expand my Unraid server, money well spent
I needed a few more SATA ports to expand my Unraid server. The 6 added ports doubled what my motherboard had. This is the best value IMO vs a PCIE card. The card was recognized with no issues and unraid picked it up and added the new drives with no issues

No good for UnRaid.
UnRaid did not recognize any drives even though it recognized the card.

Needed work to get working
When I first pluged it in I lost my boot drive almost reinstall my os but then was like let's update bios first. I had to update multiple times because reason and every time it got worse till I was on the latest one finally got my boot drive back. One of the worse first hands on experience I have ever had but it all good now. Work well love the storage pool I have now

Great for those needing more sata ports
Quality product, No driver installation necessary, plug and play with a nvme slot. Each drive shows up as a seperate entity, which is much appreciated! As for speeds, no difference between using this and direct connection to a sata port on MB.
