Q: Would i be able to add a frame to this piece after i receive it? i was thinking a nice rustic frame from michael’s would give it more character

I would leave it alone. I have never seen stained glass framed and the piece is quite heavy. I’m not sure it could support the extra weight plus the frame might look odd from the other side.

Q: Can this be hung the other way

While it can be hung either way, there is a definite front and back due to the copper foil method used while soldering this item.

Q: Are these weatherproof? Can they be inset in a door as opposed to just hanging by a window?

I don't happen to know this. We have it hanging inside a large plate glass window. Be aware that the glass in this is rather thin. If I were going to try it as a decorative panel in a wooden door, I would back it with a non-glare glass panel, so as to have the door still keeping the heat in the house, and the solidity of the panel as a deterrent to thieves.
