This (Pineapple) is the best Dehydrated fruit you can get!! Delicious. Can eat right out of the can.

This is certainly not fresh cut pineapple. It takes about 30 minutes to hydrate and has the consistency of pineapple pulp when eaten. It has diminished flavor. If you don't have access to fresh fruits or starving, this item will provide nutrition and will likely taste delicious. I'm going to use the remainder of this can for a snack as it has no added honey or sugars. I bought this can to open and try it out. I received a non-dented can with a recent production date. It should last for 30 years if stored properly. The can was about 3/4 full. I paid $27.04 and received it on August 25, 2023. If the price goes lower, I plan to buy more cans for long-term storage. There are other fruits which are sweet when freeze dried. I plan to add this pineapple to a fruit cocktail or medley and I'm sure that it will be a tasty treat.

I bought a packet of freeze dried pineapples at the grocery and loved them so much I ordered this can. I am very disappointed. The two products are like night and day. This product is like they took all the cuttings produced when canning pineapple, and freeze dried those- leaving out the sweet center, but including the fibrous bits by the core. That can't be entirely true because there are enough recognizable cross-cut pieces from the center to be untrue. But while the grocery pieces were a good 1/4-1/2" chunks of fluffy but crunchy chunks as expected from freeze drying, there are none like that here. These are all wafer thin hard bits that lack the full flavor expected. (cardboard does in fact, come to mind, but this is better than that) I will avoid this brand in the future. Edit 5/29 All the above is still true, but I still enjoy snacking on these. So I must raise my rating up from my origional 2 stars. The flavor is still good, and while they aren't as nice as the grocery store version, these are much more cost effective. I have to take back the "avoiding" I mentioned. I likely will buy these again.
