Well I didn’t think I would like this as much as I do. Not having any experience with this company or brand, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I know that this is a British company and the product is made in China, and the quality and durability is fairly high with the biggest downside being the thin cords and cheaply felt handheld controllers, but regardless they are very responsive. Time will only tell how well they hold up. Mind you, this is a ‘vintage’ toy made modern, and it does deliver. This set is very versatile and can be configured into four different tracks. Set up is straight forward, and the track pieces fit together rather well. I will be ordering additional track because while out the box it’s pretty big, I can see that the more space you can devote, the more fun you will have. Get this for your young son or grandson, or, like I did, get it for both of you. This is Hot Wheels and Electric Football on steroids and beats any video game ever made. Show the young ones how cool old school really is. Great job, Hornby!

All I can say is that my kids love this thing. It's well constructed, its fun to drive and I even find myself wanting a turn at trying to beat them. I have bought them cheaper tracks in the past and the cars always flew off the tracks at times when they should not have. This one is perfect. If you have the cash for this you will not be sorry.

It was a quick setup and worked without any issues. It would be great if the sets came with guard rails.

Grandkids loved it

Gave this as a gift for my grandson. Seems to be even more popular with the adults though. Cars hold the track well.

I felt like I read so many reviews and really wanted to buy a good quality (at least functioning) track set for my 7 year old son for Christmas. Sadly it is always a risk and we were disappointed on Christmas when one of the tracks just did not work. Cars both worked and one of the tracks worked but one of the tracks simply did not work. My husband and I tried tightening but could not get it to work. Had to return. Extremely disappointing that the Quality Control would be so poor on an item that is not inexpensive.

My boys, ages 8 and 4, totally loved the set. Both had no trouble learning how to drive and operate the controllers. They loved it up until it broke which unfortunately, happened the day after they opened it on Christmas morning. For fun, 5 stars but for durability it deserves perhaps a 1 or 2 at best. The track quality is top notch, very nice materials and build. It was the cars and controllers that weren’t up to par. One controller broke on day one but I was able to fix that ok, one car broke the next day that couldn’t be fixed. The search for a good quality slot car set continues on
