I needed it coz my money plant grew too much high and started encircling the ceiling and to top it off my curtains are up above 9 feet so I needed help sticking the plants but I realized the steps were still one or two shorter for the task. So will order another from same company coz it is very sturdy . Can’t comment on weight because I myself am not heavy
