These work very well! To collect my dog’s urine, I just turned a tinkle pad upside down on the floor so when she went to use it, the urine pooled on the pad’s plastic backing. I dipped the test strip into the specimen so that all the little squares got wet, waited 60 seconds, then compared the color of each square to the color chart on the label of the bottle to determine her results.Some of her tests were positive and other were negative (poor baby has a uti), so I was able to hold off on making an appointment with the vet until I was sure it would be a worthwhile trip. Saved a ton of money by doing the dip test at home instead of paying a vet to do it in person!I shared a pic of the dip strip and its results with my virtual veterinarian at Dutch, and he prescribed her antibiotics immediately. He thanked me for uploading the strip results to the appointment: he said that made his job a lot easier.I highly recommend these strips. I’ll never have to wonder again if something is wrong with her tinkles!

The media could not be loaded. I bought a bottle of these to test my dogs Urine and I’ll tell you they work very nicely. You have to follow the instructions but they do work well so far so good. I’ve done all my testing at home on my dog. I did four different tests and the test all came out the same. I will tell you you have to follow the instructions and if you do, you’ll find these do work well.

Works as described

I haven’t been able to use these because my dogs are a bit shy—if you chase them, they won’t pee, and if they do, it’s almost impossible to slide the strip under them in time. Plus, I’m not sure how accurate the results would be if the strip is placed on the ground or grass, since the sample could get contaminated. Unfortunately, not very practical in my experience.

I cannot figure out how to read the results. The directions on both the bottle and the insert are such small font that it's hard to read. The insert is not written for your average pet owner and reads like a technical medical document. Every time I have tested my cat's urine with these (about 5 times since I bought them over a year ago) almost none of the colors match up with the colors on the chart, good or bad. Some of the colors weren't even in the same color family....such as the strip square turning green when the chart for that square is a various shades of purple. On top of this, you have to look at certain squares within 30 second intervals, which made me feel rushed. I'm still uncertain if there's an expiry time period where the strip should no longer be read.
