Watersoluble Sketching Pencils, Metal Tin, 6 Count (0700837)

I bought Derwent water soluable carbon pencils. I found them very easy to learn to use, the size of the pencil was comfortable in my hand, and their quality was great for doing artwork and classes I was taking. The drawings dried quickly. They were a fairly good value for the money.

I didn’t know these existed until a teacher in a class listed them in materials list. They are wonderful! There are 3 different hardnesses- HB, 4B and 8B (2of each) with a nice sharpener all in a metal box. They are so fun to use- I use a travel watercolor paintbrush to activate the areas I want and leave the areas dry that I don’t need a wash or blend. Nice quality- I recommend them and would buy them again.

Worth every penny! I saw this Derwent product in a YouTube video and it lived up to the hype! When wet can disappear on canvas or blend in on 300gsm paper. Equally as good as the Inktense Derwent pencils (Amazing)

These are good and work just as expected for water soluble graphites.

A few years ago I was given a set of these and I love them, so I bought a set to give my niece at Christmas. She is very artistic and has used them to do some gorgeous drawings. The colors are intense, and blend well when water is applied. I myself have quite a few different brands of watercolor pencils in addition to these, and I find that these pencils have the best color are really fun to use and play around with - I especially like to use them for abstract art.

They’re really good I love how smooth the pencils are and how big they are. I also let my professor borrow them because she likes how big the pencil is and how comfortable they are so it’s a really cool pencil that I recommend any drawing artist or any artist that loves shading use these pencils they’re really really good.

I’ve been looking forward to trying water soluble graphite for a while. I am happy to say that I’m not disappointed. Derwent regular graphite pencils have been my favorite for drawing. This set, with its unique properties, may surpass them. The pencils came pre-sharpened, 2 of each shade. I really like that the cores are so big. They go on the paper nice and smooth. They blend out well with water. Once dry, adding watercolor is no problem. I will say that when planning to use wet, remember that a little goes a long way. It doesn’t take much to make shading dark. The picture shows the graphite with watercolor. It’s a good combo. My only complaint is that the tin came with a small dent in the lid. It doesn’t affect their usefulness, soo still gave 5 stars.

These did not perform exactly as I had hoped. They did not fade out very much when wet.

Love these and because there are 6 ( 2 of each) I am able to use them in 2 of my art bags.
