Programming the Semantic Web: Build Flexible Applications with Graph Data

Code is in python, which makes it useless for me sadly. The book and content is good though.

This is a good, down-to-earth introduction to semantic web. Through concrete examples, the author do a good job at demystifying RDF and consort.In the introduction, the authors explain their goal is to show that, although the W3C stack for semantic web is not complete yet, it is useful already, not very difficult to understand/use and many applications can be written to use it.I think they succeed, on the strength of what we learned we have adapted one our projects to use semantic web technologies.

Leider ist die Website, von den man den Code herunterladen koennen sollte, nicht mehr online. Schade. Ansonsten aber eine verstaendliche Einfuehrung in's Thema.

Not really practical nor useful, here is a book you better don't waste your time with.

Positiv:* Praxis orientiert* Theorie und Beispiele gehen Hand in Hand* Es wird nicht nur das "wie" erklärt sondern auch auf das "warum" eingegangen.* Es werden sehr viele Semantic Web Themengebiete angesprochen obwohl das Buch relativ dünn ist.Nicht ganz so positiv:* Hauptsächlich Python...na ja, war ein guter Grund mich in Python einzuarbeiten* Unbedingt Errata zum Buch lesen* Code Snippets nicht alle zum Download verfügbar.Zusammenfassung:Ein Buch das ich immer wieder gerne zur Hand nehme. Es liefert einen fundierten Überblick in einfaszinierendes Thema.

Vous vous demandez ce qu'est le "Web Semantic"? Cet ouvrage est parfait alors. Il introduit petit à petit les différents standards (RDF, SPARQL, OWL ...) à partir d'exemples concrets et didactiques.Vous comprendrez dans quels cas les technologies du "web semantic" ont un intérêt et vous pourrez tester facilement à partir des exemples fournis (en Python avec RDFlib)ça se lit très bien pour un livre technique.
