M MAXIMUMCATCH Maxcatch Rotary Fly Tying Vise Alloy Travel Vice (TVC Green Fly Vise)

I bought this so that it will fit in my fly tying binder that I like to have when camping. It is so small so it fits without adding bulk. It has holes to attach its base to something to make it more secure. I just use a cheap clamp and whatever I can find to clip it to. Make sure to check the size before you order so u will not be disappointed. As with most of the cheaper priced tying vises the metal is softer than you would want if you were home and making a bunch of flies for the season. I use this mostly if I am out and someone shows me what is working in that water or that part of the country and I don't have it. I can whip up a few very quickly and be back on the water in no time. If you make larger pike or musky, and use larger hooks this might not work for you. I can fit up to a standard size 8 hook.

It’s extremely cheap with the cotter pins already showing rust upon arrival. That said it’s cheap and I’m only using it to hold backing or wire with another vise.Not sure I’d trust this as my only vise. I’m sure it would break under stress in short time. But it clamps and holds the none working end for what I’m doing.

It's solidly made.

This was advertised as a rotary fly tying vice, but when you rotate the vice the whole device tightens up or loosens.
