The shells I got were rather large, 1 & 1/2" by 3" or 4", and most of them seemed perfect for hermits. Only a few scallops. So your dwarves might feel like they are living in a castle! Then there is a shiny coating, like shellac that might or might not be good for them. Like trying to live on an oversized slip 'n' slide. If you want the smaller size, be aware that Large World Mix is large! They come well packaged with only 1 broken shell. A diverse selection that was perfect for me, but they are not "Little pink houses" from John Couger Melloncamp!

I got them and they are just regular old shells I would wash them off because mine were covered in sand but they are just regular shells :) enjoy!
