Minwax Mahog WooD Stain Marker

I love this stain marker, it has made my IKEA brown/black furniture come up like new. At first the touched up areas was really visible but then the stain seeps into the wood until you barely notice where it had been applied in the first place. I have even brought two used pieces of IKEA epedit furniture (now discontinued) that were so heavily scarred, I thought I might actually need to buy the tin of stain in this product range. But honestly I wound up just using this pen and the finish has come up brilliant in both units. Excellent product.

This stain pen matches my desk so perfectly, I was amazed! It is super easy to use and mess free. I will admit that I bought a small can of stain thinking that it would be easier and more cost effective but I knocked it over and spilled it all over my carpet.... I have yet to be able to get that stain out. This pen prevents that from happening by keeping the stain contained to a small touch-up sized area. So worth it! It also lasts a long time. I have dinged my desk so many times from moving it and I still have a ton of life left in the pen.

Before and after picture shows the coverage and color on my walnut stained dining table easy to apply, no bad smell, dries quickly and color matched perfectly. I used a microfiber towel to buff it lightly after applying it. Love the results, great value for money- highly recommend it!

It is so watery it runs down the unit and it is not good

I have some old (20+ to 30+ years) Solingen steel full tang knives with black wood handles. With proper care the blades will outlive me, but the handles were fading, especially compared to my newer knives with ABS handles.* I used this pen to re-stain the handles. (I did one side at a time, with touch ups at the end.) I then rubbed in a coat of polyurethane finishing oil to seal them. I won't claim they look like new, but they look quite a bit better. With more effort I probably could have gotten an even better result, but my goal wasn't to pass my working knives off as new. This pen was just what I needed. There was far less mess and cleanup than there would have been with a can of stain. It's just right for small jobs. * While there might be some snob appeal to wood handles, for me ABS is the way to go. It's not only very durable, it is impervious to bacteria and viruses. And how often does someone look closely at the handles of your kitchen knives?
