I used this product to make hand and feet mold of my one year old baby. It was super easy to use. If you want to work on a slower pace, I'd recommend using room temperature water. If you can work quickly then use warm water. I experimented with both temperatures and found that room temperature was much easier to use. It took a bit longer to set but ensure no mistakes because you don't have to rush. Best time is when baby is sleeping. It's impossible to do it when baby is awake. 😊👶

The setting time of this alginate is extremely sensitive to the temperature of the water when mixing. Mixing with warm water reduced setting time to less than 30 seconds which was too short for our use. Switching to cold water (not iced, just from the tap) worked much better and provided a more reasonable setting time of about 2 minutes. Once the setting time was sorted out, this alginate captures great surface detail and didn't cause any skin discomfort.

If you’re used to working with alginate, you’ll find this to be a nice, quick-setting product. If you aren’t used to alginate or require a little more time before setting, try something else. I use alginate for face casts and this one was solid, but set a little too quickly. I found if I worked in small batches, it was better but remixing alginate while someone is under it, waiting, is a little nerve-wracking. If you want something that sets very quickly & firmly, this is your stuff…

My mistake messed up the first try but on the second the mold turned out great. Lots of detail. It does get bubbles that can add some texture but I’m going to give it another go this evening with something to shake out the bubbles. Used it to make a silicone mold and it turned out great
