How to turn off and on

There is no OFF/ON switch on this timer. When it is not being used as a count-up or count-down timer, it acts as a clock, which of course is always on.

Can the start/stop button be set to accumulate time as it's hit? Hit once and it starts, hit again it pauses, hit again continues counting upwards?

Yes it will start and stop then start from where it is stopped.
