I tried the Mountain House Chicken Fajita Bowl on a recent camping trip and was pleasantly surprised. The flavor is bold without being overpowering, and the chicken actually has good texture compared to some other freeze-dried meals. The rice, peppers, and beans rehydrated well and made for a hearty, satisfying dinner after a long day. Prep is as simple as it gets — just add hot water, wait about 10 minutes, and it’s ready to eat. The portion is generous enough for one hungry hiker or can be split between two if you’re pairing it with another snack. Overall, it’s one of my favorite Mountain House meals — flavorful, filling, and packs light. Definitely keeping a few of these in my gear for future trips.

I bought a bunch of these for reasons listed above in the title. We were on a flat trip and got hungry, no one really brought anything but snack crap and beer. So I pulled a few of these, a bit of water and my small propane burner out and whipped these up for us. Everyone kinda laughed at 1st, but after smelling them, became interested. At the end, everyone was impressed and thankful. Obviously not as tasty as a restaurant meal, but that's not what they are for. If you buy and store these, then end up needing them or wanting to use them, you'll be very happy to have had them. Just make sure you have water for this and to drink and a way to heat the water to boiling. Will buy again. Try all the Mountain House flavors. Most are good, but a few are stinkers... :)

Tastes great, I take tortilla and cheese with me for these.

Pretty good for a backpacking meal. Also works good as a taco/burrito filling if you have the fixings.
