Sakai Pottery original from Japan has no lead in it. Just like the United States, Japan has been regulating all pottery imported to the US. The bowls have been made from a safe blue natural ink. And they are handcrafted. The blue ink is called Indigo Dye and it is Organic made from plants.

Are these bowls hand painted?
