These little strainers sit on top of your cup and strain out any loose tea leaves as you pour your brewed tea from the teapot. They are not meant to be infusers; infusers need to be totally submerged and these are open and too shallow for that. They look better than most strainers and the little bowls that are included prevent the table or counter from getting tea on it after you remove the strainer from your cup.I only needed one but the package of two wasn't expensive so no complaints. One arrived with one handle very slightly bent but I easily straightened it with my fingers. The mesh is fine and catches even small shreds of leaves. They are stainless steel and shouldn't rust. They seem durable enough but I haven't had them very long.

I was looking for a tea strainer as I like to use loose leaf teas sometimes. I have a little ceramic pot with a built in strainer but the holes will allow smaller pieces through. So I got this pretty little tea strainer to collect the pieces that slip through. It works perfectly. I’ve had no trouble with it sitting on my mug (and I use various sized mugs). It’s easy to clean and I love the little cup it comes with to set it in. Does the job, great price and very cute!
