Window Air Conditioner Surround Foam Insulation Panels,AC Side Insulating Sun Block for Summer and Winter

I purchased this with the expectation that it would replace the duct-taped "accordion" eyesore that surrounded my a/c. Instead it reinforced the old sides and I was able to remove the dry-rotted black foam. All was covered with this easy to cut and install (the double faced tape can be tricky, but it's neatness doesn't really matter) white surface which matches the a/c. I now have a better looking and operating, properly insulated a/c.

Given the size and weight of our window air conditioner, we keep it in year round and I've been looking for a way to insulate the surround to reduce heat loss. This worked great. Easy to cut, loved having the double faced tape included and does what we need it to.

Tape is flimsy and hard to work with. Tape will also take paint off when you remove it. The insulation is just foam backed leather. Foam was easy to cut. Edit: I ended up using this item halfway through the summer and it did a great job of blocking out the heat and keeping the cold air inside.

I’m happy with this purchase! This product is exactly what I needed around my air-conditioner. The directions were easy to follow, which made installing straightforward and simple. Not only does this provide an additional barrier to keep cool air in and bugs out, but it’s another layer between my cats and outside. I do not trust those flimsy side panels. Aesthetically this looks much better too.

This product is a joke and ineffective. I WANT MY MONEY BACK, but unfortunately, I can't return it for a refund because it ripped into 50 pieces when I removed it from the window. It's impossible to remove the panel without ripping the entire foam backing off, so this junk is a one-use product. It is NOT reusable, AT ALL. It's a thin, flimsy piece of foam with a cheap "leather" liner glued to it. I knew right out of the box that it wasn't going to live up to the expectations set forth in the listing. There are exactly 3 good things about this product: the instructions are easy to follow, the fit is perfect after you cut it, as long as you follow directions and measure correctly, and it looks much better than weatherstripping/tape. That's it for the positives. The taping strips are extremely sticky, which is great, until you remove the panel. This product didn't do any better at keeping the outside air, outside, than a roll of tape does. Humidity and outdoor air slips right through this with ease. I removed it shortly after putting it on, in about 50 pieces, because it rips and shreds and doesn't come off in one piece due to the taping strips. I've gone back to weatherstripping tape, which might not look at nice, but is 1000x more effective. AVOID!!!

It seems like a great product but when I unboxed it , I knew that it wasn’t going to work and I didn’t care for the material.

This has worked out very well with my window A/C units. It keeps the cold in and the heat out, especially important as I live in Florida.

The insulation panel was fairly easy to install and it will definitely provide additional insulation, both in the summer keeping the heat out, but especially during the winter, when the A/C is not in use, keeping the cold out. (Once in place, I only remove the window-mounted A/C in my home office when I need to buy a new one.) The instructional video on the amazon product page is VERY helpful. Be sure to follow the carpenter's proverb -- "measure twice and cut once" -- or else you'll mess it up. The most difficult task was laying down the double-sided tape, which is tricky to work with. However, the vendor provided more than enough of the tape; I used only half of it.
