What is the thickness of MDF used to construct this box?

It might be 1/2 inch. My alpine type r destroyed mine... only the carpet was holding it together after 1.5 days of use.

Can I turn the box so instead of it being the long way (left to right) can it turn it so its taller (up and down)? Will that effect anything?
