I was on the hunt for a hydrating toner because in the mornings my skin is usually still pretty well hydrated from my night routine AND I don’t like putting on a full lotion/cream because it never seems to absorb well enough before I put my make up on and smears it around. So enter the Black Rice toner. It hit the mark. It’s got a thickened watery texture, not goopy or slimy but just a teeny bit thicker than plain H2O. Absorbs quickly, plumps up my skin a bit and allows me to do my make up routine pretty much right away. It’s a morning staple now.

I have oily skin, I consider this to be a holy grail toner. It glides really nicely along the skin like a gel which makes application really nice and easy, and it absorbs easily into the skin without feeling too congested. You can really feel the effect right after applying the toner, my skin feels more hydrated and soothed right away. I've tried many toners and I always come back to this one because in my opinion it does everything a toner should do, and it's not irritating but soothing. The toner is rich so it's not like you're applying water to your face.
