The Seven Year Itch

Shoddy Soundtrack Release!
Very shoddy release with dreadful distorted sound! And I buy many vintage soundtrack CDs so am very tolerant of less than perfect sound. Avoid at all costs! Sounds like a third generation bootleg.

These are ripped from the original movie soundtracks...
...so the quality of the recordings is commensurate with early 1950s soundtracks, albeit in stereo. There is no frequency content above 8 kHz and nothing below 80 Hz. The remaining frequency content is heavily equalized below about 350 Hz. The beginning of the first track has severe pitch "wow" as if the original film used had severe stretching or damage. While it is clearly evident that many nostalgia buffs might be thrilled to own these soundtracks, they aren't something that a typical hi-fi enthusiast would prefer to hear on hi-fi gear, since there is no pretense of "hi-fi" anywhere to be found on these tracks. Understand what you are getting is severely limited by the recording limitations of that time. Also note that there are no attributions of the orchestras/musicians that actually played the music on these tracks. I find that to be somewhat suspicious in that it is always expected to record the names of the people or organizations that played the music. I would guess that royalties to the original entities has not been identified because of this. This is a serious oversight, in my opinion.
