Prime-Line C 1001 Sliding Glass Door Handle Set, 4-15/16 In., Extruded Aluminum, Black (Single Pack)

Our patio door is a bit older and we were struggling to find the right fit. We searched all over and ultimately found it on Amazon. Easy to swap with broken old one. Works perfect

we bought an older home and sliding doors were probably made in the 70’s. the sliding door handle was not attached to the sliding door when we bought our home. i have been searching and searching for this door handle at the local stores and never in stock or discontinued....Well finally! this was a perfect fit and install took less than 5 mins!i finally can slide my patio door with the handle now and no more kids fingerprints on the glass!

this product is replacing a broken 50 year old handle latch. it fits the original spacing fine (suggest measuring before buying). however the inside handle was about 1/4" thinner than the original so in order for the latch to engage the 'keeper' i had to cut and place a heavy cardboard shim between the new handle and the glass. no problem. i ended up using the original 'keeper' as the new one was way too thin. no problem. what i did mind was that the hardware pack only came with super long bolts which could not be used, and, there were no bolt sleeves included (the old ones are pictured). these sleeves push thru the exterior handle, have a smooth base so cannot be unscrewed from outside, and receive the bolt from the interior side. Fortunately, i was able to clean and lubricate the old bolts and sleeves and reuse them. in 50 years it'll be someone else's problem : )

The product is of good quality. I’m not a professional, but I could not get it to work in my existing sliding door because the provided catch did not fit into the groove of the frame and where the handle sat was too far away from the existing catch. The first step in the instructions indicates to “verify existing hole spacing” which I did. Let’s say that is in the Y dimension. No where in the instructions does it talk about the X dimension, as it assumes you will use their catch. I was able to cannibalize this product and my existing lock and get it all to work. You might want to consider if your replacing or repairing a handle to check all your measurements

The Prime Line Sliding Door Handle is excellent. I replaced two 30 year old Sliding Door Glass Handles and this product worked and was easy to install.

The mechanism is sound, and it looks good. But, the handle for the exterior side did not fit the frame of my door. The bores for the attachment lugs are about 1/8" too near the handle, causing the handle to sit up, instead of laying flat on the frame, causing a severe deflection of the handle, or making it impossible to align the screws with the back nut. Fitment could definitely be better, and moving the bores 1/8" toward the latch would not cause a misfit to a smaller frame.

While Prime-Line (which is anything but prime) is located in the US their parts are all made in China. Unfortunately their attempt to save money by going overseas for manufacturing shows. The screws literally broke into pieces while trying to install this. Want security for your patio door? Forget about it. All someone would have to do is give this a tug and the screws would dissolve like butter on hot toast. I do a lot of mechanical work and I have never seen screws fall apart like this before. They are some sort of metal, but may well as be plastic for all they are worth.I actually bought two different Prime-Line units to see which might work best and the screws in both fell apart like this. So, if I were you I would steer well clear of any of the 'Prime-Line' products honestly.
